  1. The jig catches fish, but I still hung it up in timber. And you need to buy extra rubber rings because they get stretched out after a few trailer changes. The colors and skirts are fantastic but unfortunately reflected in the price. Seibert FTW.
  2. I was always an SK S11 fan because Costas were so expensive. I understand why & finally bought several pair from the discounter Steepandcheap.com. However, I was watching Major League Fishing & Fletcher Shryock had this really cool looking pair of glasses on. I looked at his FB page & saw they were made by Renegade. At 20 bucks, I had to give them a try - if nothing else to keep in the truck. Let's just say I haven't put the heavy Costas back on - they perform way above their price point. http://www.renegadeeyegear.com/renegade---fletcher.html
  3. Give them something different & try them together. The first bass I ever caught at 8 yrs old & the last bass I caught yesterday at 61 was on a jig & worm.
  4. Has anyone tried the new JigSkinz? I'm tempted to buy some swimbait bodies to experiment. http://www.lurepartsonline.com/Online-Store/Hot-New-Items/ProSkin-JigSkinz.html
  5. I throw the 2.5 in Bluegill patterns. With Shad patterns it's almost always the 1.5. The only exception is late summer/early fall, I start throwing the 8.0 for the bigger forage bite.
  6. I have one on my Ned Rig/finesse worm set up. It has been totally adequate for those purposes.
  7. Especially rigged vertically.
  8. I like to use them with the 4.25" Biffle Bug in Smoke Silver. Weight depends on depth needed. I just slow roll it on the bottom, pausing every now & then to let it sink back due to the retrieve angle. What I also like is that if you come up on a piece of cover, you can pitch it also. Sometimes the strikes are violent on the fall
  9. Great job! The Movement 80X is an awesome bait. IMO, the entire line catches fish. Their big glide bait is one of my favs.
  10. I have 2 - you have to open them up & clean the gunk out that they use for reel grease. Clean & lube the entire reel properly that I always do to any new one. Mine have been flawless.
  11. Make sure the weight is able to move on the hook. The really great action comes from the weight sliding back & forth making the bait do the happy dance when you twitch the rod. I buy them already assembled in my local tackle store.
  12. Try the Dangle Berry Rig. The sliding weight on the hook shank makes the bait dart in ways you can't do with just the rod. Works great on Trick Worms too.
  13. Does anyone know the lure weight rating of the Byron Velvick Pro Series 7'11" Lure Launcher? Nothing on the Duckett site & Google was not my friend. Thanks!
  14. Great rods that I have many. The 6'9" spinning was my most productive rod last year & this year so far for numbers. I wish they made a swimbait rod for that price lol!
  15. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-SWMBTSFT.html?from=basres Better yet, message Jeff on FB and BEG him to make another custom run of his bream (I'm down to my last 2).
  16. http://www.megastrike.com/_p/prd25/3562663531/product/wide-gap-shakey-heads This 10" worm has been great for me on deep water structure - order with no salt for a stand up bait. https://kcinjectionbaits.com/store/page10.html
  17. I thought the same, but I have used one bait on multiple trips. They just get the whole bait in their mouth - not a lot of short strikes to pull at the tail. GP with just the tip of the tail dipped in Chartreuse JJ's Magic when they are feeding on Bluegill is a great combo. Of course, the Pearl & the Smokey Shad when they are feeding on baitfish.
  18. I definitely prefer a parabolic action for treble hook swimbaits. But on baits where I have to drive home the hook at a distance, I want the tip to be able to handle it. Sunline Shooter Defier Armilo in 22lb on a Lews Speed Round reel - a bargain for the price.
  19. I've had my Demon for about 3 weeks now and 4 outings. It has been flawless. It casts as well and in a lot of cases better than my expensive baitcasters. It took about 2 casts to dial in the brakes/tension control. I haven't caught anything over 5.5 lbs yet to really test the drag, but I do snug it down pretty good anyway. As a lot have said, longevity will be the key. But at $70 for a 9.3:1 reel, if it lasts 2 years I'd be happy. I'm usually selling/upgrading then anyway.
  20. I bought a ton of Subwoofers when Outlet Bait had them for 99 cents. They are one of my favorite swim jig trailers.
  21. I love wake baits. Just ordered this JDM Lucky Craft beast - 4 inches, 2 oz. The Bulldog Wake Bait. It comes with a rear prop that you can change out to a willow leaf blade.
  22. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Xcite_Baits_XB-1_Squarebill_Crankbaits/descpage-XCXB.html Copper Green Shad has been my go to for a while now.
  23. Rage Bug in Blue Craw & the D-Bomb in El Diablo. T-rig pegged or on a swing head.
  24. I have it on one of my Guide Select swimbait rods. It has been flawless. I also have 2 of the smaller Komoda's on conventional rods. Great reels.
