  1. That's hydrilla. Lake Chickamauga is chock full of it. I tear them up in it using a quarter once bullet and an 11' net bait green pumpkin c-mac. I also caught my pb (only 4 1/2) by using a watermelon seed super fluke with a chartreuse tail.
  2. Remember, you don't work them... they work for you.
  3. I like the craw fattys
  4. I really like whatever foam they use for grips on the carbonlite.
  5. We'll be at bass pro this evening so I'll check it out. Sounds good for a $200 combo.
  6. If I were to do this I could go a head and get a revo s or citca. Don't really want a lews because of how they feel in my hand.
  7. Not much! LOL. I'm basically just looking for something reliable that I can get for around $150+/-. I thought that this looked pretty promising. I don't get to fish that often maybe 1-2 a week and one church tournament per month, so it wouldn't wear as fast/ as if I fished as often as most of these guys on here.
  8. That's what I use as backing on my spinning reels. I hate it as a mainline.

  10. Was it a got-cha plug?
  11. I found this at Wal-Mart for $130. Looks pretty good. Please remember I'm fishing on a tight budget and don't get to fish that heavily to wear out my equipment. Here's the specs 11bearings Aluminum frame Flipping switch Dual cast control 7.1:1 burner ratio 6'9 medium heavy micro guides IM8 graphite http://www.walmart.com/ip/Quantum-KVD-Baitcast-Combo/22172335
  12. Darren Gallagher (who is in my church bass club) is sponsored by Abu but is also sponsored by All Star Rods. I know that they're both pure fishing brands, but all star only has three pros, according to their website.
  13. I only use mono or copolymer on baitcasters but I'm going to try braid on one. I do use fluoro coated copoly though, but it's not really expensive.
  14. Ok. I need to start using backing on more than braid. I usually fill the spool then use the rest as leader for braid.
  15. Thanks. I was just asking since I never use that much line, but always fill it.
  16. Most baitcasters are rated for around 120 yards of 12 pound line, but how many of those yards need to be on my reel?
  17. Gotta stop at Hardee's on the way to the lake for a a steak biscuit and a sweet tea. Gotta have a Mountain Dew and some Gatorades. I don't really get hungry on the lake. I've always gotta have some extra line in case of a real bad backlash.
  18. Ok. I guess it's really just down to what you like. I don't ever adjust my brakes with the MagTrax brakes just leave it on half. It took me a while to get comfortable with it. It seems like dual would be the way to go though.
  19. Ok, I guess that if you had a reel with the same exact specs but came with each braking system as an option, dual would be the way to go though right?
  20. What's the best? I've only used the magnetic brakes but I want to try the others. I know it's basically an opinion, but one has to be better than the others at preventing backlash.
  21. Yep, gotta kick the tires on a couple models before you drive off with one.
  22. My problem is that I can't catch fish on hard baits.
