curado question
I feel the opposite. I would rather have the E7. I used to think the lower ratio was better for crankin. Feels funny at first, but so much less work (higher ratio = less cranks) at the end of the day. The currado has plenty of power at the 7 to 1 ratio. Having spent the better part of the last month experimenting with both an E7 and a Citica E, the E5 is the better choice for deep cranking.

curado question
A DD22, Hot Lips or Little John DD on an E7 is too much like work. E5 excels with the deep stuff.

Discontinued Lures and lure colors
If the worm is that important to you, buy all you can. There is one particular bait I would buy 50 of if the manufacturer would do another run.

Stiff Steering wheel?
Yep, replace the steering cable before operating the boat again. It won't give any warning when it decides to break.

Best all around line
I don't know how you guys stand to use that line. Our guide at Guntersville filled my wife's reel with 15 lb. Big Game. After two weeks on the reel and four trips, it's trash.

Advice on a Tow Vehicle
No matter the size of the boat, go with a full-size vehicle. You'll get better mileage while pulling. When I bought my Blazer, I chose it over a full-size pickup thinking it would get better mileage. And while it does do pretty well empty, it sucks when pulling. And the GM 4.3L engine has plenty of power.

fluorescent fluorocarbon?
As far as I can tell, the Stren is the exact same line as the Trilene. I was a heavy user of Trilene before Stren released their line.

Is it Bad to Leave Rods in the Hot Summer Heat Inside a Car?
Guide loss seems to be typical of lower end St Croix rods no matter the temperature. If high temps were bad for gear, then everything I own is junk. Everything stays in the boat under the cover. Just got my wife's rig out to reline it, it was quite hot. No big deal.

Lard
Had the best d**n chicken in the state (of KY) yesterday at The Parkette in Lexington. Why so good? Fried in lard. Wishing I would have bought a 16 piece. Also the best onion rings I've ever had.

lipless cranks in grass
I know of two and have used them both. The Loomis CBR 906 was designed specifically for this purpose and works great. The new Shimano Cumara CUCX711MH was also designed with this purpose in mind. I've used both on Guntersville in the grass with braided lines and have been very happy with the results. I would also shy away from glass or very moderate action rods for this technique. It requires a stick with some backbone in my opinion. Having used BF's Cumara for a few casts on Guntersville, I can say that it is an excellent rod for this job. Totally changed my approach to this technique. Feel is important.
