This place never gets more than 3' below full pool. I don't know if it is crap that has washed down from the other two lakes upstream or if it is just junk that the wind stirred up today. Guess that's part of fishing a damned river lake. Don't know if it was the log or something else, but my prop is pretty much crap now.

d**n it to hell, why can't the TVA at least try to clean up surface debris? I'm crusing down the lake (Ft Patrick Henry in Kingsport TN) this afternoon. Get to the last straight stretch before the dam. Keeping an eye out for floating stuff, see a small log off to the side. After no more than a second of looking to the side, I look forward and there is another log floating dead ahead. No time to swerve one way or the other. I never came out of the throttle. It made contact twice. Barely ticked the outboard. Was probably 3-4" in diameter. Times like that I wish I had a Hotfoot and smooth steering. Twice in my last three trips to that lake I've hit stuff. Ran over a floating pallet late one night last summer. I idled around a bit after I hit the log today, never seen so much trash on a lake before. The area around the dam looked like an old saw mill with logs floating everywhere. Gonna have to put a cowcatcher on the front of the boat next time. ;D

I guess it's that time of year again. When I launched this afternoon, there were only two other trailers in the parking lot. Nice and peaceful. An hour or so before dark, I am fishing down lake, hear that familiar sound. Yep, there come two jet fleas just barreling down the lake. I kept hoping they would hit one of the floating logs that I hit earlier. They went back up the lake, thought they were gone. Coming back in to take out, come around the bend to the ramp, there they are in front of the ramp doing their little donuts and jumping each other's wakes. I actually had to stop and wait until they noticed me before I could even get to the dock. Then, once I was there, they started their BS again. Couldn't tie off for fear of their waves pushing the boat into the rocks. Finally, once I get tied off and back the trailer in, they take up the other spot at the dock and crowd the place. 6 people just standing around on a small two slip dock. At least one of them was a nice looking gal wearing a bikini. :-X Now I remember why I avoid large lakes in the daylight. >

Probably not. Why wouldn't it? Why WOULD it? And why does this matter? Additional refining capacity in the US would increase supply. As it is now, supply is limited due to a lack of refining capacity and there are no new refineries on the horizon thanks to the environuts and NIMBY's. Plus it makes no sense for the oil companies to invest in new refineries.

Are you set on the 525? 565 has higher resolution, more power, dual beam sonar. Well worth the extra $70.
