Shimano Stradic Maintenance
The sound is normal. As for the port, I'll defer to ReelMech. I've never even removed that screw on my Stradics.

live bait question
Take a knife and rough them up a bit. Remove some scales, etc. Make them look very tempting (i.e. injured). Works for catfish.

Shimano Citica
Find a better one and I'll take 3 of them.

new member of shimano posse? need advice
If you go with a Premier, I would recommend a PS66MLF. I've got a PS66MF that is a bit too stiff to throw baits lighter than 1/4 oz.

CC Handgun
Many people prefer to go big. I'm comfortable with any of the four 9's I carry on a regular basis. I prefer compact and ease of carry to a larger load.

To hell with looking, just buy them all.

NEW/OLD MUDMOBILE 1993 Chevy S-10
Just think outside the box... The front would be fine, but it is much easier to load a battery into the back than into the front. One thing you could do is put down two boards across the bed, then a sheet of plywood over those boards. Rods and other things go on top of the plywood, battery & motor below. Could even cut the plywood, attach hinges, and have a custom cargo system.

No tie-down hooks or attachment points? On the bed liner, is there a slot in the sides for a 2x6 or 2x8? If so, that is also a good solution. Put the battery and motor in the 'pocket' created by the board. You might want to get some non-skid drawer liner to put under the battery so it doesn't slide around on the slick bed liner.

A ratchet strap across the back of the bed.

Higher end rod companies
Good luck finding a L-action rod with enough backbone to set the hook on anything but a mega-dink. If you can find Fenwick Eagle GT's, they make a nice 6'6 ML that is passable for drop-shotting. Decent backbone, extra-fast action. Should cost around $60 with a 5 year warranty.

Slider fishing
Man, if only other tackle companies shipped as fast! On my doorstep in two days for $5.50. Plus they threw in a few samples. If they catch fish, they've got a customer for life.

"Pacman" Jones
Given the events of the last week, I would be surprised if he ever plays another down in the NFL.

p line xtra strong (cxx)
Try the PLine CX in 8 lb. It is great line. After trying a ton of different lines over the last year, I keep coming back to the CX. Strong, low memory, and it handles rocks pretty well.

Line for Crankbaits
Is it a fluorescent line? I had never heard of it until you mentioned it. Look at Berley's website and there it is. I've been looking for a cheap fluorescent line to fill a few reels for night fishing.
