  1. Mowed my yard twice in the last two months. Just leaves more time for fishing.
  2. There is certainly a market for reasonably priced drop-shot sinkers. I've started using the bell sinkers with the brass loop. Cheaper and easier to find.
  3. Two people in a 12' boat = cramped quarters. My current money pit is 16' and even it is rather cramped. I think my next one will be at least 26'. ;D
  4. Most wineries in the US rarely use cork these days. Advances in screw-top bottles have made cork almost obsolete. Those who do cork usually use a plastic cork. As for cork and rods, I'm quite fond of the stuff and won't buy a rod unless it sports cork handles.
  5. They hounded me last fall after I had been a member for only 3 months.
  6. Cabelas is the only major retailer I know of that carries it.
  7. Found my order info online, just got off the phone with a CSR. The items aren't on backorder but re-order. According to him, as soon as they get them in mine will be on my way. The guy was more than a bit loopy, how much you want to bet I'll end up getting either a rod or a reel, not both?
  8. So what is the deal? Why are they taking orders for something that is OOS and not BO'ed? I checked their site this afternoon, the rods are in stock, but all the reels are marked as being possibly OOS. I was going to call tonight but left the paper at home. If nothing else I'll order just the rod and see if they'll add it to my 6-pay plan. Speaking of which, that is another matter. I've already made a payment, part of which included the cost of the rod & reel.
  9. Drive 5 hours just for a reel? :
  10. They're not shipping anything. OOS and not backordered. May be the last straw with BPS for me...
  11. Ordered a Fritts crankin reel and AR crankin rod from BPS 3 weeks ago. They were out of stock and they told me they should have them in stock again by the end of the month. Just got a letter in the mail from BPS. Out of stock and NOT backordered. :'( Fanfreakintastic! Any recommendations now?
  12. Got a range?
  13. Not a copperhead.
  14. Quinn or Clausen? I don't know much about a few of the FLW guys, but the BASS guys are all pretty straight up. I'd like to see an old timer's UMF. Roland Martin, Bill Dance, Jimmy Houston, etc.
  15. Hey, I'm a sexy no fish-catching *****!
  16. In FL you can not draw your weapon to win an argument.(That will get you 3 years with "Bubba") Not an argument. If you've got a couple of hood rats moving in, sometimes all it takes to dissuade them is the glint of a streetlight on a holstered sidearm.
  17. Every manufacturer puts out a lemon or two occasionally.
  18. A St Croix Premier or Avid in 7' MHF would fit the bill for what you're asking for in a do-everything type setup. Line is personal preference. I like braid for c-rigging. I use 17 lb. Trilene XT or PLine CXX for worming and jigging.
  19. I saw Jimmy Houston catching them hand over fist with that bait last week. Were you holding your mouth right? Try wearing a blonde wig and cackling occasionally. ;D
  20. Sometimes unholstering is all it takes to diffuse the situation.
  21. I've met a lot of people who swear by ivory soap as catfish bait. I'll stick to chicken livers, catalpa worms, and live redeyes.
  22. When all else fails....there's always the dynamite under the carpet in the rod locker.

I was a little worried. Got a few reels that will be sent to Dave this winter. :-/
  24. BLACK LIGHT!!! After fishing a lot at night over the last month and missing a few fish, I finally broke down and bought a black light and changed my reels over to fluorescent line. Well worth what ever you pay for it.
