  1. I would fish a pink Pixy.
  2. Get the biggest graph you can afford. Going cheap now and then having to spend more later is just asinine.
  3. Cut the red & black wires and connect to battery.
  4. You can't use SI when your navigating on plane so the 798 is the same as any other finder and only provides depth. I don't depend on the graph for depth, I depend on the Navionics maps.
  5. Be advised that P-line CX (fluoro-sheathed copolymer line) has multifold the 'memory' of braided polyethylene and multifold the line 'stretch' of braided line. They're two very different animals. Although the CX ad states "low memory", I'm sure they mean compared to a stair-walking Slinky. Roger CX has the same amount of memory as the benchmark of limpness, Trilene XL.
  6. After getting slammed on the face with a lipless crank and getting hooked on the cheek glasses for fishing, bigger ---> better. My first thought was, 'When did Harry Carey start fishing?' ;D
  7. That trailer needs a good coat of mud. And you change boats like I change contacts. ;D
  8. If I knew he was coming, I would go 500 miles in the other direction.
  9. I could make a comment, but I don't want you to have to drive to the of VA and slapme.
  10. I had never had my license checked until 2006. I guess I never fit the bill. Friend and I were out on the lake, I see a certain brand of boat go by in the main channel. Having just spent the previous weekend fishing with one of the local GW's and talking about their patrol boats, I instantly knew it was them. I think he may have recognized us and decided to chat. That would have been fine had there not been another GW in the boat with him. So we had to show our licenses. Had I known the demeanor of the other GW, I probably would have thrown a fit about how I didn't need a license. I've been fishing for 28 years (needed a license for 17 of those years) and I've only had my license checked twice. The above incident and once on another lake last summer. Hell, there were a few times when my friend was patrolling that I would offer my license and he wouldn't even check it.
  11. He said CX, not CXX. That said, 15, 17 and 20 lb. CXX are acquired tastes.

Snake oil. You'll get by cheaper just using silicone spray from NAPA.
  13. Fleshlights No, I buy those locally.
  14. I can't say. Sad thing is that they didn't have the quantities I needed.
  15. I don't allow such tomfoolery in my threads.
  16. That reel is far more than a custom painted Daiwa Pixy - it is a true work of art both inside and out - minus those ugly reel grips ;D Those Reel Grips really make it look like a huge turd.
  17. There's a difference between LC's Chart. Shad and the Sexy Shad pattern. As evidenced by LC's release of their Sexy Chart. Shad pattern. Sexy Shad is a lot darker than Chart. Shad.
  18. It's the law. Be glad he didn't write you a ticket. You didn't have a leg to stand on. I was trying to remember the regulation for that today. If the vessel is over 16' you need a throw, correct? There are very few exceptions. I know of tickets being given to boat owners who's boat was 12'-14'. The Type IV (throwable PFD) must be immediately available (i.e. lying on top of a seat, not stowed in a compartment).
  19. Most of the guys in my club stay at the Day's Inn in Scottsboro, I haven't heard any complaints. There are definitely some really crappy places in Scottsboro. I went cheap on my first trip and hated every minute of it. I stayed with Coldwater Cabins last week. Other than a few small things, it was great. Much better than a hotel.
  20. I don't know how you drive that thing. 1. Hold steering wheel real tight 2. Mash gas pedal I could barely see over the console. Guess I needed a few NYC phone books. ;D
  21. The 898 is only $500 more. I've got a 788ci on my console and it is OK. Screen is a bit small when I'm navigating on plane. Would rather have a bigger screen. I will prob. break down and buy a 798 sometime this year.
