Opinions on Daiwa Low Pro Baitcasters
Well since you already have curado's and calcuttas why dont you just stick w/ those? For salt I have a preferrence for shimano because it reels can get more damage due to corrosion. Just send in the reel to shimano for service after every season and they will fix and replace the parts that are needed. The few times I had to bring them in they only charge me for the cleaning/service, parts were free!!!! I had bought a used torium that was never serviced so I brought it in to get it serviced. Not only did they not charged me for parts, both side plates were replace, bearings, drags, gears were all new. so basically I got a new reel. Service like that keeps me coming for more but I am open-minded and have a daiwa alphas ito. Unless you know how to service your own reels I wouldn't use daiwa for salt because I have heard from numerous tackleshop owners and fellow fisherman that if you bring the reels back to daiwa to service you can walk out of there w/ a big bill. Something tells me you are just iching to get another reel just to get it. ;D In that case get one of those for bass fishing. If money wasn't the issue I think the zillion seems like it a much better quality reel when I was playing w/ it at the tackleshop.

What's the most you would spend on a lure?
Got any pics of that $250 lure?

Citica Question
At that price, I'd go w/ the curado. The price its basically paying for the citica at retail and getting the curado. I myself are having trouble deciding between curado and the stx.

Shimano or Daiwa....
Where are you getting it so cheap? I've not seen them for less than $159.99 anywhere around here. ebay about $132-135 shipped

Shimano or Daiwa....
I have heard from some people that if you bring/send in the reels to shimano and if they can't fix it, lets say they dont have parts for it, they will GIVE you a new reel that is similar to the one you have. So I guess if you can't find parts for it down the line even from shimano, send it in to them to get it "fixed". I am sure they will take care of you. I've been to the service center and the way they help/serve me as a customer, I cant ask for more.

Best reel covers for small profile casting reels?
I have the shimano one but I think its not thick enough. I use progear reel covers. I dont like the nylon like fabric, i'm not sure if that itself will scratch the reel.

Bad Drop Shot Knot?
What I do is tie a palomar knot. face the hook the way you want it to face and then use the end of the line to slip it thru the eye of the hook from the top and pull down. Now your hook should face up. I hope I explained it right. Good luck and have fun w/ the dropshot.

Saros or Stradic FI
I think you should just get the one you like more. I would get the new stradic. You can get a new stradic on ebay for around $135 shipped. Thats less than saros at retail + tax.

Just bought an Avid 6'8" med. xf, what's the best reel for under$125

Great deal on Curado 300
I'm thinking the same thing is going to happen to me. It'll be interesting to see what happens. I really want to know if you will get your reel. If not you have to call them and see what kind of excuses they give you. If they try and use the discontinue excuse tell them you can walk into any bps and they would have it in stock. Its not your fault they messed up you know.

shimano stella
I'm just curious what kind of fish do you use the larger 4000/6000 for?

Great deal on Curado 300
I know....I know..... But making money sounds good as well. If it was a 200 size than I probably would keep it. Not sure what good the 300 can do to me. I was thinking about swimbaits but than I have to buy another rod/lures. So it will cost me more money in the long run anyway. :-/ Well you can get a swimbait rod for $100-150 or so. Instead of costing you more money you can think of it as you bought the reel for retail+ rebate and got a swimbait rod for free. I'm just messing w/ you man. but if you dont have the funds for a rod now then save for it and get it later.

Great deal on Curado 300
Man you are lucky. I was trying to get a few but they realized it was a mistake. If it was me, I'd keep it. A $200 dollar reel for $60.

Great deal on Curado 300
for that price I'm sure they made a mistake and hopefully you made your purchase already if not you missed out. ;D

Are chatterbaits worth investing in??
I purchased the chatterbait kit because it was a better value, more trailors and skirts. I lost one jig and caught a fish on the other. The strikes on the chatterbait is unreal. Like another member said it felt like the fish wants to rip my rod/reel out of my hand.

Shimano Cumara
I was told the same thing by another tackle store salesman and I asked the members of this forum and they emailed loomis and confirmed that they use different blanks.

Advice on which Loomis IMX rod
Really? Where? I have never found a "deal". At the last day of the Boat, Sport and Travel Show here in Indy various vendors had Loomis rods 30% off or more. I saw I guy buy a MBR844C GLX for around $220. These were brand new, fresh in the rod tube and not demo rods. Unfortunately, I did not come prepared to shop for rods. The MBR844C would also be my rod of choice. Fishtank, so would you say the best deals come from the first days or so or the last day? I'm asking because there is a boat/tackle show here and I'm not sure which day should I go for the best deals. Also where should I look for the best deals? I'm guessing cash would be better to bargain at those places? Thanks by the way I'm still hurting for you on the deal you could of had w/ the rod and reel combos ;D

Advice on which Loomis IMX rod
Really? Where? I have never found a "deal". Well its a local tackle shop in my neck of the woods here in Los Angeles. I bought a IMX mbr843 for about 180-190 and a loomis dropshot rod about the same price. I asked him one time how much it would cost to get glx he said around $260. Also whats great about that place is he said if I bring in a imx rod used, give him $50 bucks or so he'll let me trade for another imx model. I know I can get a new rod replaced from loomis for $50 but I dont think they will let you get a different model do they?

Fred hall fishing show/convention
Hi this is going to be my first time going to a fishing show and I'm hoping to get some crazy deals. It is going to be held wed to sun I believe. How should I go about checking out the stuff? Do I hit the rods/reels first or tackle? Where can I find the best deals? Which days are the best? the first few days or the last days because they would want to get rid of their stuff for a really low price? Thanks

Never go to a boat, sport and travel show with only $100.........
OMG!!!! Deal #4 is basically buying a GLX at regular price but they throw in a Chronarch mg or daiwa zillion for free. I feel so bad for you :'(
