Catch 22

Just happened across this. May be something in here for ya.

I take my unit off everytime. I keep it in a metal ammo box mounted to the floor of my truck, in a theft proof manner. A good lock makes it unworthy of the time to defeat it .Its good for other valuables too. I leave nothing of value in my boat when traveling.

I use a leader all the time. Stretch on the hook set. Sometime I`m a Wildman on the set==can`t help it.With out the leader I believe I would straighten the hooks on some of the LC`s and or tear the lure from the mouth. Abrasion, I fish lots of stumps Break offs are easier,more controlled Economics==not cutting off much braid. I swing lots of fish in . Grabbing braid would put my hands in worse shape than they usually are. uni=uni with 6 turns each side works well for me. BUT,I will try without the leader sometime to check it out.Old habits die hard C22

Sunday I fished in shorts & tee. Today Tues. it was dress up time. Wind screamin NE, poor boat control, shoulda had gloves ,but didn`t. Still I put the LC78 to 2 nice LMB==2-1/4 & 3-1/2 lbs. The yellows got in a good mood for about 1/2 hr,landed 6 ,lost 2,==1crappy & some pickerel all on the same LC 78 male bluegill . Light snow blowin this morn,hard freeze tonight==lovin it. C22

I use the best quality duo lock snaps I can find.I go thru every last one of them to check for quality and alignment.. I always use them with LC`s and never a failure with size #2.

Best game ever,one for the history books. In fishermans terms , it was a real drag puller.

No rage here but. 4 lane divided road, I`m in right lane with a car in the left lane.So Mr toad gets right on my rear so I gently slow a little. The other car is slightly ahead now so Mr Toad changes lane and tailgates him.So I speed up to get a little ahead of the left car and Mr Toad jumps in my lane again.I slow a little and MrToad changes to the left again.I did that about 8 or 10 times to him lmao. Finally I slowed enough for him to get by.The next light catches him a quarter mile ahead of me. I pulled up next to him and smiled. He knew he was had. The end. I used to drive 53 miles one way to work and I saw some crazy stuff. One guy in a VW Rabbit actually drove his hood under the rear of a semi flat bed by at least 2 feet to squeeze in front of me by about 2 feet. I didn`t see it developing till it was over.The guy was an engineer on the job I was working . After that I was always on the lookout for him.. I saw people drive on the grass medium strip to pass a couple times. My policy ==don`t mess with them

He was probably out bass fishing Years back my son and I went into a well known place in the wee hours for breakfast. The nite manager tried to seat us right in the middle of several smokers. I politely asked for another spot about ten steps further away. He refused two requests, so we left. On the way home from bass fishing the same day I stopped for a chat with the day manager. He was very apologetic ,gave us two meal tickets and visible displayed disgust at what happened to us.I`m betting that someone got chewed.

I use my turkey/deep fry burner outside, on a windy day with snow on the ground for melting bulk down to ingot size for the Lee pot. I found a 3 gallon pot at a yard sale that works fine with a ladle used to fill the mini muffin pans that sit in a bed of snow so they will cool off in a reasonable time.Water and hot lead don`t mix well but a little common sense goes a long way. Have done about 400 lbs in recent years ==no probs. Wear long handle welder gloves and curtail the beer drinking til yer done. I recycle old jig/bucktails that often have thread and some plastics on them. Now THAT SMOKE is very toxic not to be inhaled. I try to pick a day that the wind carries the smoke over to one of the neighbors I don`t like. He doesn`t approve of fishing /hunting or the likes.===========and of course I`m just kidding ha ha Mom asks me if I have seen her muffin pans now and again==me==nope. C22

At 45/46 don`t be afraid to test the main stream water with some tubes and hair jigs

Iv`e been in some hairy situations,but watching that vid at the dam makes me shutter.
