  7. Just had a meal of them fried on the grill with butter. Extremely yummy
  8. Nice first trip .Its always relief for the rig to run right on the shake down trip.
  9. Locating crappies can be a chore because they school and move a lot where I fish.I constantly watch the water for dimples and swirls of feeding fish. Its hard to find them when they are not up. Often times the best bite is day time before sunrise. Sometime I use a medium depth crankbait and burn it to actually bump into fish, then go try for them with conventional baits.Change colors often to find their favorite, which may change by the hour. Also I will use a 2oz sinker in the same manner as the crankbait. Keep in mind these are open water fish not relating to downfalls. Little crazy,I know but sometimes it works.
  10. I keep numbers in my head for a short time, mainly to make a report. After that I only relate to whether it was a good trip or good season. For me it would be like a job. ETTSwims, very impressive numbers and record keeping.
  11. Excellent choice. Occasionally don`t be afraid to work the jerk a little faster than you would think would work.

Pearl for me. Interestingly my local Walmart dropped the price for super flukes from $3.36 down to $2.77.Thats the everyday price now. C22
  13. The whites are very common and migrate into most estuaries on the east coast in the spring. Excellent food source for man and beast. They do exist in many fresh water lakes. Great fighters and will take artificial lures too. Blades are lots of fun to take them. Most common baits around here are night crawlers and bloodworms. Similar in looks and habitat. http://www.seagrant.umn.edu/exotics/wperch.html Excellent eating as already mentioned C22
  14. Tide and wind cooperated well today. We had to move a few times to locate the white perch.Bloodworms with high/low rigs worked well.To mention here ==no red/char beads on the rigs ,its was slow catchin. We didn`t blitz them ,but two of us got plenty for 4 meals. The big one in the pic is 12"
