Opinion on people keeping Big Fish to eat?
That warm water ==cold water battle has been going on for 35 years that I know of. The stigma of "TROUT OPENING DAY" in Pa sells a ton of licenses so the PGFC will apparently never give that away.Roll with it!

Barbless Hooks?
I fish barbless about half the time depending on what the game is.In the salt looking for a meal, the barb stays on. Plinking fresh water the barb is usually off. Its c& r so what diff does it make if there is an escapee. I once stuck a 5/0 hook on a 1 oz jig in the side of my leg as I jerked it away from a bluefish. I was just oh so thankful the barb was down on that one . I just eased it out with only a tiny drop of blood forming.I was alone but remember saying aloud,"$$%^)(*& I know that hurts",but it didn`t Some say barbless hooks stick fish deeper [penetration, not throat deeper]so I think that could be good or bad depending on where it sticks and also on the size of the hook? Fell out of the boat?
Bad timing caused me to fall in. Where I was fishing was not to bad,but at the ramp it was kickin with two to three foot waves. I got tied up to the dock ok,but trying to get onto it proved different than a normal exit.On an up cycle of a wave,I tried to step on the dock, but waited about one half a second to long until it started down.I fell between the dock and boat in 45 degree water at which point I just walked on up the ramp. Water was running out of my gear all the way to the truck.I hit the coffee shop a short time later. C22

Motor does not like E10 gasoline?
Excellent advice to try a different fuel source. Maybe inspect the fuel for water in a glass jar . If you do find water you might want to install a water separator filter because the problem may still exist even with all new fuel. Good luck getting any dealer to admit to bad fuel.

Just my humble opinion about fishing hot water
Thanks for all the replies, some self serving, some informative, ,some silly.Having chased bass for over 50 yrs now,I have btdt. I keep an eye on local T`s when I can and if there are any floaters later on,it is predictable that it will be in July or August when wt`s are high[80 deg +].NO ,I`m not anti T,I did it many times. I know many of the guys that fish them and they are all good people with good intentions. While this read does not mention hot water it does dwell on delayed mortality that is a reality in T`s and pleasure fishing. http://www.bassresource.com/fish_biology/after_the_catch.html My message would be to take extra care at a time when the fish are more apt to be stressed by c & r. I sent my wife to the ER days ago so I will be out of this discussion. Thanks for reading. C22

Just my humble opinion about fishing hot water
I have been seeing reports about people fishing 80 deg and higher water temps. I say its no good for the resource in so much that water temps that high stress the fish way more than normally. Fish need more oxygen in warm water and conversely there is less oxygen available. That leads to more stress and delayed mortality in some cases.I see it every summer after "t"s in small ponds Shallow rivers allow no place to escape the warm/hot water because of the constant churning and modulation of the flow. Shallow ponds,no place to hide. Large lakes would present more opportunity for the fish to seek cooler water. JMHO now I must put on my flack jacket. C22

Repower a LUND Pro V 16,6
1999 model with a Honda 50 hp,4 stroke, tiller. She was getting tired and the killing blow came with the destruction of the lower unit on an unknown object. This motor has my highest respect for durability and longevity. Shopping around I see that Honda and Yammie both make high thrust lower units for 60 hp that costs as much as $1600 more than standard LU`s. Question=does anyone have experience with these high thrust LU`s. Are they worth the extra $$ They are made for non planning vessels like toons and barges. This Lund is not light by alum boat standards but of course it does plane.Max is 60 hp Either manf is fine by me. Thanks C22
