  1. Powerpro, sunline fx2 and smackdown. Prefer smackdown as it's smooth and quiet. Expensive though but braid lasts forever. Wish sunline would make a smooth 8 carrier braid.
  2. Is this just some sneaky form of advertising or BASS attempt at creating a message board/fishing community?
  3. Does length of hammer pound the nail or does your swing?
  4. Anyone have one of the 1/4oz revenge deep runner spinnerbaits? I have war eagle finesse spinnerbaits now but want to transition to revenge and would like to know if they have similar profiles.
  5. The 40 mercury will get to about 30 or 35 mph. Good for beginners and small lakes. We do get on plane
  6. 12 pound sunline reaction for all cranks. I gave it a bad review before but it is growing on me.
  7. Aerated and does have trim
  8. Montanaro posted a topic in Tournament Talk
I see they moved to pursuit but I haven't seen any 2015 tournaments on TV and they only show 30 minute segments of 2014 tournaments which are supposed to be an hour! Anyone know what's going on?
  9. Dad has a 94 with a 40. Engine isn't the best and most of the dials don't work. However it still floats and gets use out on the bigger waters. Rod box is very short and won't fit rods longer than 6'10"ish. Dad has a bass raider too and it's a huge upgrade.
  10. They don't increase casting distance. They make the spool spin faster and quicker to get to that speed. Allows you to cast with less effort as well as pitch lighter lures. If you upgrade, please don't go out and see how far you can throw your lure because you'll end up with a nasty backlash!
  11. Lunker city appear to have nice ones. Haven't used them though as I have enough hooks at the moment.
  12. I fish braid with cranks all the time and I don't bend out hooks. Braid is not the determining factor. If I used my punching hookset with those crankbaits with braid then yeah I'd bend them out! But it appears the hooks themselves are the issue here.
  13. Another point. I also keep the stopper on so I can adjust for my cover rather than have another rod rigged up. Slide down for heavy cover, and slide up for more open water.
  14. That's not how spawning works. If the female lays her eggs she will leave. There is no attachment to mate or bed. She can spawn elsewhere and possibly multiple times. Just because there are bass on a bed doesn't mean they are protecting anything.
  15. Watching now. John crews ownership in bass should go up unfortunately if he keeps this up.
  16. Yeah no setting of hook. Keep arms locked where you were reeling and simply twist your hips to apply pressure.
  17. I always have a stopper on. Nearly pegged when punching and pitching to heavy cover. Pegged about a foot from hook otherwise. If you are unplugged and working lure over branches you can end up moving the weight up and down and not the plastic.
  18. Are soft jerkbaits like fluke and d shad too subtle for use at night?
  19. It's not about small bass out competing large bass, it's about small bass competing with small bass which leads to very few of them growing. Take the small bass out and the large bluegills. Resulting in a bunch of small bluegills to feed the growing bass population. Those small bass can't swallow big bluegill and those size gills compete with them for food. As bass grow into 3 or 4 pound range you can relax the gill harvest to give the bass bigger forage.
  20. You are paying for the name on the label mostly. Alleys tungsten and seibert are high quality AND cheap (by cheap we are talking by a couple quarters to a dollar)
  21. Inserts are to prevent line damage. Tungsten is very hard and can be abrasive. Most companies can make very smooth tungsten and remove burrs so an insert isn't necessary. The insert will reduce sensitivity which nullifies one of the key uses of tungsten.
  22. Alleys tungsten is where I get mine. But will probably buy Siebert from now on to support a sponsor.
  23. This They are fish and they are numerous. They are also stupid tough. Nobody is abusing fish for devious satisfaction. Not to mention that if it weren't for bass fisherman, the population of bass throughout the world would be much worse off.
  24. Carbontex drag and abec 7 Bocas to my daiwa tdz along with a new face plate. Huge difference and looks better.
