  1. TW has them up already. Type-R righties are sold out already. $179.99 and the reg is indeed $129.99
  2. Yes, again, it must be easier/cheaper than using cork. Or maybe that's just how they want to roll on their swimbait rods. Has nothing to do with what series it is.
  3. Watched the first impression video with Jacob Wheeler. Really not all that impressed with it. Will have to fish one for myself but it's probably a one and done for me.
  4. I would venture to guess that using foam for a handle that long is both cheaper and easier for them to produce.
  5. The 795 shows the EVA model. Exposed threads above the locking but transitioning to an EVA foregrip
  6. Check it out on TW and see what you think about the exposed threads. They've got a picture of the grip.
  7. Madison fishing expo, gander and Cabelas all had them out and available.
  8. Hands down my favorite platform. Palms very well in my hands. If I had to give up all my other platforms but one, the Zillion would be what stayed.
  9. You're gonna like that rod. What are your plans for it?
  10. That's classic. Nice combo.
  11. Have not fished a Levante. However they are based on the Orochi XX series which I absolutely love. Split grips and a step down in sensitivity from there though. Some of the tapers changed from the XX line too.
  12. I bought the President LE more for the novelty of it. It's a very nice looking reel and incredibly smooth during the typical handle crank test. I have not had a chance to fish it but if it compares anything to the original president it will be hard to beat at that price. Which also brings me to say that you could save a couple dollars on buying the LE and just get the classic President. Mine has never failed me in the years that I've fished it.
  13. All this snow is giving me withdrawals so bad that sometimes I just need to get them out to look at. Hit the Chicagoland Expo last weekend and looking forward to the show in Madison at the end of the month.
  14. Careful using fluoro. Because of its sinking properties, if you pause for 5+ seconds between jerks, the line actually has a chance to have sunk below a suspending jerkbait. That way when you jerk, you're having to snap that extra bit out and then your bait follows. It can muddy up your cadence.
  15. I fish jerkbaits on my flatside special. I have the XX model, but the Levante series also has one. I really want to move to the jerkbait special just because it's shorter and I've heard it fishes relatively the same, which is perfect for me.
  16. XP series. Few models on TW as of now.
  17. Like Grant said, somebody is trying to revive the name. I haven't seen him around for a while though. And we were just talking about Daiwa losing it
  18. Somebody more knowledgable than myself might know more... But isn't there some benefit of having the line guide further from the spool? I thought this was something going on with the Curado I. I don't recall if it was too close or moved farther away.
  19. My favorite site for spools is Japan lure shop. Reliable and their prices seem to be the cheapest. Shipping isn't bad either. Somebody may know a better site but that's what I have been using. And yes, search hedgehog for the alphas parts.
  20. Yeah I don't quite get the ultra exposed wing either. Perhaps it's due to the thumb bar being changed?
  21. So you just can't get caught by your friends, that's all!
  22. @dwtaylor Yes, I'm talking about you here.
  23. Well you know me, that red one is interesting. Maybe you'll buy my 50th.
