So the ribbit doesn't float? How slowly does it sink? I know most buzzfrogs like the horny toad and the yum model sink very slowly.

Rapala, Zoom, Bomber, Mr. Twister, Yamamoto, Cavitron, Strike King, Terminator, Gitzit, Yum, Berkley (their plastics anyway), and Lucky Craft. Really I've never found a bummer brand. I really like Bass Pro Shops lures too.

Lemon Shad is overlooked and is a great imitator of a small bass.

Yes, but they do tangle fairly often. Good lure though, especially in low light conditions.

Me thinks I'm going to have to buy me some croakers. I get hits on spros and land fish but they take on water terrible. However the bronze eye popper doesn't seem to take on much water.

There are some lakes and regions even where a certain lure doesn't produce that consistantly, but I can tell you that all those lures CERTAINLEY DO work. I catch quite a few bass on buzzbaits, and I have caught a bass on a buzzbait twice in a row at a lake where hits seem to be rare on buzzbaits, so I know they work.

I've thrown a rod when I lost a fish and cussed a few times, but usually it's more of a "nooooooooooooo" when I lose a good fish, and I'm speechless and almost senseless if I lose a monster fish.

The upper main branch of the Susky in New York still fishes very well. Sad to hear the mid and lower Susky is suffering. So much good looking smallmouth water.

I like areas of current with rocks or other objects that break the current. The heads of deep holes can be good too. Mornings and evenings fish much better as well. The topwater bite when it's cloudy or during low light can be viscious. I followed these tips on Colorado's Yampa River and couldn't keep the 1 - 3 pounders off. Once got four consecutive 2 plus pounders on four casts with a buzzbait this year.

I like both lures. The super spot has a better wobble but it runs a bit shallower than the rat l trap.

How is the action of the DD compaired to the regular pointer? I like the regular pointer a lot. I've used the X - Rap deep and notice it has a somewhat muted action compaired to the shallow X - Rap.

The 78 is probably better all around for bass but I use the 100 a lot too. Never used the 128.

I like using lizards on Carolina rigs or texas rigs. The smaller 4" lizzy is a great split shot lure.

So far it works good. The caulk and glue came out after three bass but I re - did it.

They are good lures but have more of a propbait action than a buzzbait.

Split shot doesn't hurt the action or the chance of a bite usually. However I would throw anything under 5/16 of an ounce on spinning tackle. If the cover is light you can use as light as 6 pound test. In areas with some cover, bump up to 8 - 10 pound.

I need to try them, I use gammies and have no hookup problems but sometimes senkos and flukes slide down the hook on a long cast or in weeds.

You just need a heavy action rod with lots of power. I would upgrade from the 30 pound braid to at least 50 pound braid.

Black skirted buzzbaits, black jitterbugs, big black spooks, big ol' black prop baits, and black spinnerbaits. Some guys do well with a big black skirted jig that rattles too. Burning a, you guessed it, BLACK lipless crank near the surface is an overlooked option. On really quiet nights when they are less active, a dark colored jointed minnow of at least 4" long is an alternative.

Testing it out tomorrow. So far I've had no problems with the Spro popper taking on water.
