I salmon fished around Whidbey and Hat Island a lot. It was pretty good fishing.

Clear hard baits?
I have used clear poppers and spooks, and they do work well under bright conditions with clear water.

Banjo minnow
Banjo frogs rock. Try them as a jig trailer too.

rebel crawdad crank...
One of the all time best cranks in my book, at least where there are a fair amount of crawdads. Catches smallies, largemouth, and anything else pretty much. I do well with them in both lakes and rivers. My favorite is the rebel wee craw in chartreuse.

I used to live in Marysville, about an hour north of Seattle, right on I-5. Where are you from?

Topwater Setup
For lures the size of what you mentioned, I would use 6 - 10 pound mono or copolymer line, with a 6'6" medium action spinning rod with a slower action, much like a crankbait rod. Spinning gear is best unless your working big poppers or full sized spooks.

Sight Fishing
White super fluke junior.

Best Technique for Post Spawn?
Soft jerkbait or a popper.

watermelon/black senko
Watermelon with black flake is one of my best producing colors.

Favorite Popper
Rapala Skitterpop. It isn't even close. No popper has a better action or catches more bass for me.

fluke
Definately. Me too..........this year I've actually tried to get away from using them so much. Good luck. I always go back to fishing them, along with senkos. I'm probably throwing either of the two about 35% of the time I'm bass fishing, except during cloudy and lowlight periods. That's topwater time. Have had some cloudy days where they didn't want a topwater, so I went back to the fluke and nailed them.

Banjo minnow
The banjo's weedless system is actually more weedless than just about any other system, but it is also harder to hook bites on it as well. The fact that the hook is rigged ahead of the lure also makes it harder to set the hook when fish are short striking.

Banjo minnow
No doubt the Banjo will catch fish. I have caught largemouth, smallmouth, crappie, trout, pike, walleye, and bluegill on it. I just have better luck all around with flukes and sluggos.
-
Scumfrog Popper
I have never tried it. I like the idea of a weedless popper though in a frog style body. How good is the popping action and how well does it work overall?

Best rod for flukes and/or Senko's
I like a 7', medium action spinning rod with fast action/stiff tip.
-
Banjo minnow
Banjo minnows do have good action and do catch fish, but they don't cast as far, sink as fast, or have as good of a hookup rate as a sluggo, fluke, bass assassin, senko, ect. You will do much better with the other lures I listed.

Any Colorado Clubs here?
Yes, PM me for details since I can't list the site name here. I am a member of Colorado's foremost fishing authority site.

lucky craft pointer vs rapala x rap
The lucky craft pointer doesn't cut and dart quite as violently as the X - Rap. It has a better wobble for more subtle presentations though. But I love those X - Raps.

The weightless 4" Senko is the greatest bait in the history of history
I would say the 4" senko probably IS the greatest bass lure in history, except in murky water.

bull #@%& fishing ticket
Most fishing violations are petty offenses or violations at worst. You do have to be careful reading the regs though. However obey the law, but if you disagree with it, fight for it's repeal while still obeying it while it's in effect.

snake river lewiston area
The snake around there fishes great. The best stretch might be the Ice Harbor tailwater, before the Snake disappears into Lake Umatilla. This time of year it's still running cold and high (over 20,000 cfs). It fishes A LOT better from July onward.

Am I the only one using this old brand of Mono?
I heard big game has a lot of memory though and coils like crazy. Am I right? I know the big game supreme Trilene used to make was a very good line.

Am I the only one using this old brand of Mono?
Trilene XL is just brittle junk after they changed the forumula. Seems it gets rough surface and breaks very easily as soon as sunlight hits it. Stren Easy Cast/Magnaflex was a great line. I miss it.

Why does line with so called "Memory" bother you?
My problem with memory is it reduces casting distance and also increases backlashes and birdsnests on both spinning and casting reels.
