What was the problem with the original?

I catch plenty of nicer bass on both the super fluke and the super fluke jr. Using the super fluke will reduce your catches of ten inchers somewhat, but even an 8 - 10" bass will still wolf down the full sized super fluke. I think they definately ARE a big fish bait. I use the super fluke jr. when I need a slower fall rate and when the average size of the prey is smaller.

I got a ticket once for "fishing with three lines" because I touched another tip up that my brother was using. I showed up for the court hearing and the DA dismissed it as frivolous. It would have been a $68 dollar fine otherwise. The warden who ticketed me has a reputation for harassing people and even once gave a disabled old man a ticket for "fishing three rods" because he helped his granddaughter reel in a fish.

That is indeed bull crap. Take the rule book with you and show the judge or the DA. The case will likely be dismissed if the rule is no where to be found in the book.

I'm sorry but IMHO any fisherman, hunter, or other outdoorsman should be very much of an environmentalist. We should all be aware of what the impact is of what we do and the products we use on the environment. It seems that in most cases going to extremes in either direction is not the best answer. And to have zero tolerance for environemental considerations is not the way to go. Neither is caving in to those who would ban something like this without reasonable science behind the ban. DWS By environmentalists I mean the extremists. I don't mean those who want to go to reasonable lengths to keep our water, air, and countrysides clean. I am a big supporter of keeping our water clean and making sure things don't harm our waters and air.

I use jerkbaits in just about any water situation, but they will outfish many other baits when the water is cold, in the 47 - 55 degree range, especially suspending jerkbaits. I do well on topwaters anytime the water is over 55 degrees actually. Topwaters work best in the heat of the summer though.

The key is zero tolerance for such regulations, zero tolerance for environmentalist and big government supporting groups, and zero tolerance for any politician who votes for or supports such a ban.

A defacto ban in my state (Colorado) was passed for Soft Plastics in some waters (waters that were artificials only), because they banned any lure that had scent or salt in it. They did this because they believed manufacturer claims about lures being "better than live bait" and they listened to the fly fishermen crowd, who want only flies to be allowed in most waters. They thought it was probably causing fish to swallow the hook, thus increasing hooking mortality. There was no science to support this. In fact, all the science I have ever seen refutes a ban on scented lures in ANY situation. However because we would not tolerate this new law, and because of massive protest and the refusal to give up, we did get it repealed. So believe me, it CAN happen and HAS happened.

Anything that breaks the current, especially rocks, bridge pilings, and logs, will hold bass. I like to work an inline spinner through those areas, as well as tubes and grubs. Don't forget to try buzzbaits as well.

It happened here in Colorado. In some waters we have fly and lure only regulations. A bunch of loonies and biased biologists claimed fish were "always swallowing" soft plastic lures that had scent or salt added. They did this with no science to support it, and the only science I saw directly refuted it. However in Colorado our Wildlife Commission is usually a rubber stamp for our liberal, tyrannical biologists. So it passed unanimously. Since most all soft plastics have scent or salt, this acted as a defacto ban on soft plastics on many waters. There was virtually no public support for the regulation. However the local bass clubs would not allow this. This year, we got the bans repealed. The key is to never give up.

I won't use crawdad imitations when the bass are feeding heavily on bluegills, sunfish, and baby bass. But when it's bright and the bass are deeper, crawdad imitations are the way to go much of the time.

Cavitrons are the best buzzbaits around, but I also really love the Accent High Riders.

I use six or eight pound test in open water for many applications, except for buzzbaits and heavier lures. Usually the weight of the lures I'm using and the thickness of the cover I'm fishing dictates the size of the line I use. For really heavy cover I use braid of 20 - 30 pound test, and a lot of guys go heavier than that. I use at least 12 pound line for buzzbaits, always mono for topwaters.

I use at least 12 pound mono with a buzzbait, helps keep it on top of the water and helps it to surface faster. Buzzbaits rock! I fish them around heavy cover, especially in weed choked shallows. They work best in cloudy weather, or during the twillight periods, but they will catch bass when it's sunny as well. Anytime you need to cover water in the shallows, give a buzzbait a try. Don't forget a trailer hook.

The bumble bug is a great little bait. Rebel makes some great little cranks. I also really like the crickhopper and big hopper, and especially the wee craw and wee frog.

I buy plastics from a lot of different brands, most all of them make some great baits. Zoom and Yamamoto are the most common baits in my arsenal though.

The very best conditions for topwaters are any days where it's cloudy, or the two twillight periods surrounding sunrise and sunset. This goes with any topwater bait. However, if lots of baitfish are up on the surface, a topwater lure is a good call regardless of time of day. I've also found that buzzbaits work better than other topwaters during the day, especially for covering large amounts of weedy shallows. During the ideal conditions I listed at the first part of this post, topwaters are my go to presentation.

I lost a blade once on a T1, but I have never had a problem with blades breaking. I do love the T1s, they are great baits. However my favorite spinnerbaits are the Pepper Hawgs.

I really don't think salt and scent matters nearly as much as action of a bait, nor do I think it attracts large amounts of fish. However, salt and scent DOES cause a fish to hold onto a bait longer, and in really tough conditions, a few more lookers are turned into biters. At least with bass anyway. I've never found anything that works as well as natural bait when the situation calls for it for just about any fish. However much of the time, lures outproduce natural bait.

I fish seknos and ikas on spinning gear with 6 - 10 pound.

I want to try the wavespin and the Ray Scott supercaster. A longer casting spinning reel would be great for me. Just so little mula though.

They used to make a line called Big Game Premium, which was much more limp. Now they quit making it.
