  1. The veritas winch is lighter but more prone to breaking. Both are good choices though. I have three BPS cranking sticks (7' m, 7' mh, and 7'10" mh) and they are great rods, sensitive, flexible, and strong.
  2. Deep cranking with shad colored cranks once the sun is up. Try a 3XD or 5XD in Blue Gizzard Shad or Green Gizzard shad. Early morning go with a chrome shad skitterpop and a clear or wounded shad super spook jr.
  3. The Rapala Rattlin' Fat Rap isn't made anymore. It was one of the best crankbaits out there and I REALLY miss it. The Risto Rap too.
  4. My best of the year, a five pound five ouncer, took a 3/8 black skirt cavitron buzzbait.
  5. It's a great lure that works in very tough conditions. Rig it upside down to where the eye of the hook is poking out the top where the tentacles are. It will swim and sashay away from you on the fall. Twitch it back up and let it fall again. Great for finicky, shallow water bass. A 4/0 EWG hook is the best.
  6. Couer D'alene is great for both largemouth and smallies to six pounds. Rocky areas for smallies, largemouth in the weeds and brush, and sometimes both in the same spots.
  7. Pflueger definitely makes the best spinning reel IMO.
  8. I live in Colorado and I've fished for bass all over Arizona, Colorado and Utah and have never fished a bass fishery that didn't have crayfish.
  9. Rapala Skitterpop Lime Frog
  10. Don't overlook diamond valley. Swim baits and aggressive baits when you get some wind, and finesse plastics and creatures when it's calm.
  11. Very clear lake with lots of shad. Sometimes the bass will boil with the stripers. Rocky and brushy areas near deep water are best this time of year, and since it's hot and the lake so clear, deep structure might be your best bet.
  12. Will try that. Thanks.
  13. Ok you twisted my arm, gonna have to get a couple.
  14. They take on water real bad. Worse than spros in that regard and I drill all my spros.
  15. Which one? Looking to possibly upgrade a deep cranking reel.
  16. I am trying to get the left side plate (the one with the ACS break) on a right handed quantum kinetic pt to clean it for a friend. I can get the ride side plate off fine, but not the left one so I can clean the worm gear, levelwind and breaking system, and pop the spool out. There is a little black, sliding switch that slides to the left on the reel below the top plate but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the left plate off to finish cleaning the reel.
  17. I'm a BC veteran so yeah I have the brakes and tension set pretty light.
  18. Yeah I am going to do that with Curado. I have the tension and brakes set as light as possible, the magnetic break is usually on 4 with pretty light tension.
