I wish they would come out with a 5.0:1 ratio for the new I instead of the 5.5:1. I just feel that slower is better for deep cranks and slow rolling spinnerbaits.

I have yet to catch a single fish on them, but the action is good when reeled slowly with a slow ratio reel. I haven't fished them a whole lot, both in waters though where cranks only work well in certain situations.

For the price it's a good reel, but the PQ is worth every bit of 100 bucks, and especially when it's on sale for 70. I have four and they rock.

It needs cleaned now. My wife dropped my pflueger president spinning reel overboard in a murky lake but I was able to retrieve it. It was gritty and not working very well. After a good cleaning it's as good as new. Grease on gears, oil on bearings, and LESS is more with both.

Try the dynamic lures dynamo (it stays 0 - 2 feet under the surface with an extremely slow sink and is more of a wake bait but has GREAT action) They make a lipped dynamo that can get to 5' deep on a slow retrieve. The horny toad makes less noise and is for very calm conditions.

Nope I find buzzbait fish stay stuck pretty good usually.

Simple, they come through cover so well, even weeds.

I pitch to the target, let it sink on semi slack line, until it hits the bottom. Then I will shake it for two seconds, then hop it 2 - 3 feet. Most strikes come on the initial fall or the first two hops. Once it gets aways from the target, I reel it in quickly and make another pitch. They are best as a target bait imo and I load the boat with them. Caught three of my four best bass last time out pitching rip rap and a weedline.

It looks a lot like a bright perch or sunfish. A go to in stained or murky water for me. Have even done well in clear water on it though.

I use uni to uni with no problems on lines of all diameters.

I like the shad better.

The Koppers Livetarget shads are great and cast way better. Only drawback is the $12 price tag.

Still the fluke. But love bass assassins and sluggos.

Topwater and spinnerbaits in the morning, mojo rigged centipede in the day. Senkos and jigs are still always producing for me though too. The centipede is just my go to when it's HOT and the bite tough. They'll hit it when nothing else is working.

The fat boy and man n from norman are great too.

I use the #5 and #7 regulars. The shallows are good for skinny water. Shad raps call for spinning gear, they will barely throw on a bait caster.

I pitch them to the target and let them hit the bottom. Most strikes come on the first fall or the next hop. I'll hop them a few times away from the cover, then reel in for another pitch. But they also are great on a carolina rig or on any horizontal retrieve across the bottom.

Mr. Twister Split Double tail. Trim about 1/2" of the grub body off to make it more compact.

I'll let him do my spinning reels. I do okay with baitcasters.
