  1. Well ww2farmer I'm not a big talker and I normally fish alone anyways so being quiet shouldn't be a problem lol. Where do you normally fish? i'd love to join sometime.
  2. Send me a pm if you do end up coming out here. I'd love to tag along!
  3. Yeah that helps alot thanks!
  4. I dont really like fishing deep water. No deeper than 10-15' I like throwing finess jigs under docks and jigs into brush piles and lay downs. Its not terrible with the rod I have now but if I dont slam the Hook set the fish come off or don't get hooked.
  5. Marty, I have done that a few times as well, and it has worked but even still it can change in a flash... its like a wind tunnel being between the two mountains.. great pickerel fishing there too!!!
  6. I think it really depends on how you set the hook. I always set the hook hard just out of habit so using braid doesn't work for me as well as mono, but like Marty and Scott said it works for them with a light Hook set.... only way to really find out if its right for you is to try it out...
  7. I hate to sound stupid haha. But what does LTB stand for.
  8. I'm looking to buy a rod for my jigs. I bought my first baitcasting rod last year off craigs list a 7' medium action falcon bucoo. It was only 70$ which was a steal since it was never used before I bought it. Now I'm looking to add a jig rod this but dont wanna spend over 200$. I'd love to hear what you guys think would be a great jig rod in my price range.
  9. Hey jar11591 Ive been up in the Adirondacks a few times, and if I ever make my way up there again ill def pm you.
  10. Eco pro tungsten football jig in either black or green pumpkin. Amazing skirts, and a beefy hook. Also the heads are much smaller than the lead version of the same weight. I also love war eagle heavy finesse jig. It is great for skipping under docks and has a big enough hook to handle the big fish.
  11. Hey everyone. I've never thrown a swimbait before, but I just bought some bit bite cane thumpers. Any advice on rigging, weight size, or retrieve would be great. Thanks
  12. Hey guys, I'm getting pretty excited just did some work at a cottage on Canandaigua lake and saw all the ice melting! (it's about time) and also bought a ton of new baits online today. I'm 23 and have been fishing in this area my whole life. I'm looking to start fishing the finger lakes more consistently this year. I have a canoe, but without any pockets to hide from the wind and only myself to paddle it's not alot of fun. although I have a good paying job, being fresh out of college with school loans makes getting my own boat not an option. I'm looking for someone with a boat who would like to have a fishing buddy. I live in Palmyra NY, and am willing to travel anywhere around the area, and can also help with gas or w.e. let me know if anyone is interested.
  13. Hey there, I'm taking a trip this summer to lake Norman in NC. I've never fished there before, but I've rented a house on the lake that also has a boat. The house is in Mooresville. I've looked at a map of the lake which is a little overwhelming since I'm used to fishing the finger lakes. Any tips on places to fish or baits to throw would be great. I'll be there the last week in July. Thanks, Ben
  14. Thank you all. This advice will definitely help when I can get out there. I'm hoping to get out there Tuesday or Wednesday. I'll update on what happened and probably have some more questions. Thanks again!
  15. New to bass resource. Just thought I'd post and see if I get some replies. I wanna hit Honeoye lake in my canoe sometime next week. I have never fished it before so I was wondering if anyone has any tips on what to throw this time of year or where to go on the lake. Thanks
