Topwater Help
All these baits mentioned are great my one favorite is a hollowbody frog on a sunny summer day.... throw it on a weed mat and watch the fish pound it.

Just Lost A Fishing Pole
That's pretty good. Heres a good one. I fish in an old aluminum canoe. I took one of my buddies out in it and when I fish alone I always stand up in it and have never fallen out or tipped it. S we had been fishing awhile and I stand up totally forgetting I wasn't alone this time. We both get dumped on the water and i had my pole went to the bottom of the lake. We swim to shore get back in the canoe. None of my tackle had fallen in luckily. As we are paddling back I see a line on the surface of the water. I go over to it and remember I had braided line on my pole. I start pulling on it and up came my pole! Thank goodness for floating line!!!

What A Day For Numbers
That's a great story! Don't see enough of that these days. People are so busy looking out for themselves that they don't give other people the time of day. Its a shock when you see people like yourself helping out and giving your time to others.

Anyone A Member Of Rochester Bass Masters?
Thanks for the reply! This is the first year I've been really interested in tournament fishing. It was a little overwhelming when I started looking into it, since it seemed like the only option was to join a club. First off there is the money aspect. Join B.A.S.S which cost money, then pay club dues, then the money for each tournament and everything else. Secondly as a co-angler I would feel strange asking ?'s and stuff knowing that we were fishing against each other. I honestly didn't know there was another option. Thank you.

Anyone A Member Of Rochester Bass Masters?
I'm looking to get into a club as a non boater. Is anyone a member of Rochester bass master? I've never been in a tournament or a member of a club, but I want to join one so I can fish in some tournaments and gain more knowledge from some good guys and girls. I'd like some competition, but also would like it to be laid back enough to have fun. Would this club be a good fit for me? I know I could contact the person in charge but if anyone on here is a member I thought I would try this first.

Sounds like some fun. I need to gain confidence with a jerkbait. It has been very slow for me too. Just slowly jigging. Hoping to get out a bunch more this week. Things should start heating up soon I'm hoping!

Hoping To Educate Myself On Bass.
I agree. This site can help out a ton the articles, forms, and the videos. The videos gene puts out are a huge help. Before I found this site I was always looking online for videos, and most of them are just ad's for lures. They give a little info but mostly wanna sell you something. Gene isn't about that, his videos are very informative. If you're looking to gain more knowledge about bass you're in the right spot here on bassresource

Can I Mount A Lowrance X4 On A Canoe?
I'm looking to buy my first fish finder. I have a really low budget and fish in an old canoe. I'm looking into getting a Lowrance 4x. Since I have never had a ff before I'm wondering if it would work to mount it on my canoe. I'm just looking for something that will help me find some structure in deeper water.

Fishing In Southeast Ma/rhode Island
Ok here is what I would try first because in my opinion it will be the easiest way to catch a fish. I would go down to the local Walmart and pick up a chartreuse spinnerbait. Tie that on and then just reel it in. Try varying your retrieval speed to see what the fish are looking for. A second option would be a crank bait. I love a chartreuse and black square bill. Look into even getting one with a rattle in it if your water clarity is gonna be on the muddy side. Retrieve that just like the spinner bait. Try a slow retrieve a few times and get faster until you find what speed the fish want.

Fishing In Southeast Ma/rhode Island
I don't do any saltwater fishing so I know nothing about that, but for the bass you should pick up some jigs, rage craws, square bill crank bait, and some spinner baits... that will be a few thing that will get started how's the water clarity where you're fishing?

Any Luck In Upstate Ny?
Ive been out both yesterday and today. Yesterday at a local reservoir and today at the canal's wide waters. No luck either place although there were a bunch of guys out today. Wondering if anyone has caught anything yet?
