I don't have one single struggle...I have about ten all tied for first...lol -Electronics -LMB suspended deep, tight against steep ledges -Sticking too long with a lure or presentation that isn't producing -Boat positioning -Managing a vertical fall on (semi) slack line while maintaining feel and good view of line -Keeping my head in the game when confidence is waning ...that's off the top of my head....I'll think of a bunch more right after I hit 'post'

I used a 3-ring worm binder for 4 or 5 years and would have highly recommended it...until this past year. Now, so many of the plastics I use come in much bulkier packaging that the binder has become somewhat obsolete. Rage Tail, Keitech, Strike King....I needed to carry a backpack or duffel in addition to the binder. Now, the binder often just stays in the car or at home and I have a backpack with a jumbled mess of plastics. I have segregated a little bit using inside pockets...trailers, flukes, etc. But, I'm no where near as organized as I was when I just had a binder full of 'flatter' packs of Zooms, Senkos, and Net Baits.

I got good deal on a Type R and live it. But I have read nothing to indicate that I wouldn't be very near as happy with a 'normal' one

What's more....now we know enough not to give a dang about anyone that does care...if I'da known then what I know now..... Jade, I don't know why, but your avatar creeps me out more than Sammy Davis Junior.

Are you casting in the yard or on the water? Just like golf, I can't correct my swing on the course. Too many variables. Work on it in the yard. Apply it on the water. If you're already working on it in the yard, experiment with varying your arm, your wrist, your body....roll your wrist more...less....dip the rod tip, don't dip it....lots and lots of muscles and individual contributions go into where the lure lands...I practice a lot....now I'm adding kayak to my fishing and new angles mean countless new adjustments. Unfortunately, I've got lousy muscle memory and need to practice more (and concentrate harder) than others appear to

I would be sorry. Shipping charges are the bane of interwebs shopping. ANYTIME you can get free shipping for same unit cost, you're shopping smart. Patience is a virtue....a thrifty one at that.

I know I suggested I have no business telling you what to buy.....BUT.....I can't resist.....not one spinnerbait, swim jig, chatterbait, or scrounger?

You've been on here quite a while. I imagine you read most (or a lot) of the threads. What have you learned? I am doubtful that any of us can help you all too much without knowing an awful lot about you, your water, your bass, etc. Even then, we won't be more help than you can help yourself, I don't think. Take what you've learned reading about all of our experiences, make a list of what you already have...and then a list of think might/should work in your water. Keep a wishlist handy and modify it constantly so that when you do have the $$, you know what you 'need', instead of what we want or instead of just making an impulse buy. I personally think you may be stressing too much about color variety instead of presentation focus (and variety.) You might buy every one of Roboworm's 850 different colors, but if the bass want a crankbait today (and you don't have one along) and not a worm....well.....you just might be settling for catching bluegill today.

Actually, a 'lure/presentation' checklist isn't a bad idea. I've considered it, but haven't gotten around to doing it. Rare is the outing that I didn't get home wondering, "Why didn't I try using xxx...(or doing yyy)?????"

I want your problem. Getting a TW shopping cart to $50 has not been a challenge....unless its the third time in a week, maybe.

I have factory side rails, but I got cross bars from 'foryar' on e bay and they've been great at a fraction the cost of thule. Alternatively, I bought thule kayak slide/saddle kit and I'm very happy that I did. Well made, the straps are all included and very easy to use -- and all four pieces of the racks go on and come off in about 2 minutes.

Thanks for the video and the reminder. You took those awfully well. I've gotten a little too confident...carrying too many rods, no cover on my crate and haven't tied down everything I keep around my seat. If I do flip before I change things up, I'm likely going to lose a lot of stuff.

I have about 4 or 5 different brands. They all do the job. The cheapest ones use a looser weave and aren't as good or as durable. By the way, none of them float. I know this from too much experience

Thanks for the updates, guys! I appreciate it. As a very new yakker and a boat renter, I don't have much experience to bring real value to the conversation, I will say that oftentimes in unrelated situations, perceived rudeness may be mostly ignorance and lack of situational awareness. Possible that kindly offered education will help them be better in the future. The only boat launch I've used so far is Bull Run, but I will say that lack of ability to load a fishing kayak before I get it to the water causes me to take longer at the ramp than a boat which can be made fully ready before backing down the ramp. I know that it probably isn't fishermen yakkers causing the problems, but I'm painfully aware that I take a long time still. But I do stay out of the way of the boaters as much as possible. I skipped Occoquan this weekend for the first time in a long time. Hit Hunting Run and AP Hill with mixed results. I'll hit Bull Run one or more evenings this week.

riva, I don't know of any public access up there besides Bull Run. I checked NOVA parks website and saw that a key was $20 for the year and went to Fountainhead to get one. Turns out that you have to have an annual launch pass to get be offered a key. Makes sense, but I wasn't mentally prepared for the $60 bill. It is worth it, just a little surprise. Nice thing is that the launch pass is also good at Pohick, Occoquan, Fountainhead and Algonkian (a few miles above Great Falls - north of Sterling.)
