  1. Looking good! The only thing I see missing is a beer fridge!
  2. Sept 2, 2006 Notre Dame @ Ga Tech Just sayin'
  3. I'm losing track, Sam. Does the SEC have a poor OOC schedule because "the conference schedule is too tough already", or because the state legislators force them to play the in-state patsies? I see quite a few SEC OOC games against the likes of Tennessee Tech and South Alabama in the November timeline. So why does "SEC scheduling" prevent playing Notre Dame, for example? I did find a recent example where Tennessee and Oklahoma had a home and home, actually in each others' stadiums and not a neutral site. Kudos to them!
  4. I think you're a bit under-gunned for most jigs, except perhaps finesse jigs. Even just a 1/4 oz flipping jig with a trailer will likely overpower a M spinning rod.
  5. I'm really starting to grow tired of this... Sure would be refreshing for the league, an owner or a mayor to actually do something that's in the fans interests instead of all the empty talk. It's especially awesome when the fans are rewarded by having tens or hundreds of millions of their tax dollars be given to the league or a team, and then they're "thanked" by having to pay even higher ticket prices to come to the stadium they helped pay for. Something drastic has to happen to bring the money in sports back down to earth.
  6. I'm no expert but I think the reel you choose is a bit of a limiting factor due to line capacity.
  7. Might have to do with the fact that they had no idea they were going to be greyshirted when they committed, and by the time they found out their options were limited at best. Why is there a "place for it" in college football? You don't think it's shady? Sure would be nice to see an SEC team play an out of conference, away game (key is AWAY, NOT neutral field) against a P5 team outside of the southeast. I honestly cannot remember the last time that happened. Can anyone refresh my memory?
  8. So are you basically saying you're OK with both what Bear did and grayshirting?
  9. So you're using graduation rate as the barometer of academic excellence for athletes? If so, can you help me understand why? Don't you think it's easier to graduate guys being funneled into "general studies" or "turf management" than it would be for physics or chemical engineering? Note that I'll freely admit my alma mater is NOT on this list, but I'm totally at peace with the reasons why that's the case.
  10. If the boat is truly a fiberglass hull then I'd think you'd want more than just one 55 lb to run it with. I've got three 80 lb thrust and it's still too slow
  11. Are the crappie baitcasters that BPS sells any smaller in profile? If so, that may be an option
  12. I dunno man...in my experience, walking the dog is action imparted by the angler, not the bait itself. Why not just more practice? Or perhaps a shorter rod?
  13. Eh, they're more or less interchangeable but if choosing just one I'd go 683 since I can more effectively fish "tip down" techniques with it, like jerkbaits, flukes, etc.
  14. Be a bit careful with the shad raps. Generally those are pretty light cranks that would be challenging on baitcasting gear, especially someone relatively new to baitcasting.
  15. Just for the record, Craig at the Dugout did a tip-top replacement right in the store for me a few years back $60 in round-trip shipping on a $5 repair will be a bit difficult to justify, but let us know what they say.
  16. Berkley Big Game. I can get a 1/4 lb spool for $7 at Academy, and if I ever get down to my backing it's decent enough line that I feel confident I've still got a chance.
  17. I'd recommend mono. Regardless what line you use, I recommend you tape the spool about 20 yards deeper than a long cast' s worth of line to minimize losses when you get backlashes.
  18. No, not really. And it's especially nauseating when ESPN says Ohio State won last year by following the "SEC blueprint", or how the National Championship match-up this year is "glorified SEC title game". The SEC certainly has multiple very good teams but let me drop some knowledge on you -- other teams outside the SEC have had some pretty good results as well, so the SEC does not hold the monopoly on "winning".
  19. So Texas A&M and Florida were removed from the conference in the last few days?
  20. Hmmm...the BPS website appears to have removed all references to Daiwa as well. Weird... EDIT: forget it, I'm apparently not qualified to use the BPS search procedure. With that said, it seems they're a LOT less Daiwa items coming up. I can't seem to find ANY Daiwa bass reels in baitcasting or spinning. No Tatula, Zillion, etc. Odd...
  21. I'm WAY ahead of you here, buddy. I've already added batteries 2 through 6! Ha!
  22. Any particular brand you're referring to? For the brands I fish, I don't have an issue finding 6'6" to 6'10" versions for most.
  23. For the new ones especially, send to Shimano for a factory service. You could probably call and explain the issue, and perhaps even get the servicing done for free.
