  1. I think the trick worm is more versatile.
  2. Are you looking for spinning or casting? Unless I'm mistaken, the 704sf is spinning and the Champion Extreme 705 is only available in casting.
  3. I think you answer your own question here. If you can't see the small one, get the bigger one. Showoff
  4. All things being equal, I think you'd appreciate having more power for your boat. And on top of that, I think the newer motors would do significantly better on battery consumption.
  5. More good juju coming from Ga. And I'm sure the fish appreciate a break for a few days
  6. I picked up a Kistler KLX 6'9" M rod a year or so ago and I love that thing. It's beefier than a standard M but I really enjoy throwing flukes, senkos, trick worms either weightless or with the 3/32 keel-weighted Owner. This rod is paired w/ a 2500 Stradic FJ and 10lb Sufix braid.
  7. I'd fall off that friggin' paddle board if I got topwater strikes like those!
  8. Agree that the 704 is closest to the Croix MH/F
  9. If that's the case, then I do think the 735c is too much. Granted all I know about St Claire is what I see on the fishing shows, but it seems like an open water grass fishing type lake so it that's true I think you'd be better off with a 4 power, and maybe even a 3. To me, the 735 is a rod that excels throwing frogs, jigs and paddletails into grass or thicker wood. Not sure you need that much power for your situation.
  10. Yes, I swap the braid on my reels after a few years. I have a few old/cheap reels around for exactly the purpose of these line swaps, and I've found that way works out for me so I can do it from the comfort of by basement couch while watching my 55" TV
  11. Hehe This. I had three, sold one, and then bought the reel back from the guy I sold it to a few months later. Fantastic reel for baits 3/8 oz and above, durable, customizable, comfortable (especially on a Zillion rod).
  12. The 735c is a pretty stout stick. What size/weight Keitech and underspins are you considering? My first thought is that the 735c would NOT be a good option for those techniques, but need a bit more info from you on the baits you're envisioning using.
  13. Steve Broadwell in Jefferson built me a few custom travel rods a few years back. BC Custom rods. He may be able to help.
  14. The answer is always one more than you currently have.
  15. Yeah, go 3-piece travel rods. If you are looking for a casting travel rod, I have one I could be convinced to sell. PM if interested.
  16. Certainly cannot hurt, but in my experience the sealed drags are usually targeted more at the saltwater crowd.
  17. No thanks. Already have one G1 STX that's currently homeless
  18. Wow - a positive Shimano review on TT? How unusual... But in all seriousness, I like Stradics so I'm sure this is a good one too.
  19. Despite their weight, I cannot cast them worth a crap...They just seem to helicopter for me.
  20. Let me settle the tie 704
  21. Become annoying compared to what?
  22. Frogs and paddle tail swimbaits
