  1. Hmmm, Me thinks KastKing will be a great first baitcaster for my 7 year old.
  2. Looks like Wednesday it'll be back in the 70s.
  3. Not a giant, but my first popper fish. Caught on a black Yamamoto Shibuki Popper.
  4. A sucker maybe?
  5. Bank fishing in Jersey is a mission. The lakes and ponds up here are pressured all the time. I have most my luck using jigs(my go to lure), frogs(hollow/ soft plastic), Ned rig, and some type of punching rig. You need to hit the isolated cover (lily pads, grass mats, lay downs), and yes I've done this from the bank. Hit the beaver lodges, there's always fish around them, and there's plenty of them in new jersey.
  6. The Pad Crashers and BPS Kermies are good walkers as well.
  7. If anything go with Certified Pre Owned. Those are ussualy returned leased models with low miles, and you can get them for a really good price because the depreciation has already been paid off on them during the length of the lease.
  8. I would opt for the AWD Ford Edge with a tow package. It's bigger than the Escape, but smaller than the Explorer. That's what I'm looking into this winter, when the dealers want to get rid of their older models.
  9. I just let extra slack line out, then twitch the tip of my rod slightly until the frog starts moving. usually it will go to one side, and then I repeat to let go to the other side. I usually speed up the cadence from there. Make sure your pointing the tip of your rod at the frog. Now I'm pretty good at it, unless I cant see the frog for some reason like when I have glare in my face, or it's in a 6 lbrs yap.
  10. Dang, I've got nothing.
  11. Colombia Long sleeve button up shirt with the roll up sleeves when they are cheap enough. Field and Stream version of said Columbia shirt. A pair of World Wide Sportsman convertible fishing pants. These Shirts and pants are all UFP rated. A ghillie hat, and Glacier Gloves for the hands. And to be honest with the sleeves rolled down and the pants at full length the heat doesn't bother me at all, probably some of the best ventilation.
  12. Shoot, I'm an adult and I use my tm to dock. Makes it easier on me and the boat. I also pull my boat to the trailer.
  13. With the motor trimmed up lift up and press down on the motor at the lower unit by the gear case and check to see if there is any play in the transome and cracks at the corners. Also check if there is play on the mounting bolts. Check for brown stains or even liquid coming from the mounting bolts.
  14. Seibert, Fishing Skirts, Barlow's
  15. I used 17lb flouro rigged with a ZOOM Horney Toad in duck weed once, and caught a fatty. That's about the limit of me using nothing but 50lb braid for frogs.
  16. I use a 2/0 or a 3/0 VMC round bend offset worm hook.
  17. There's a pond I've been going to for the past 3 years and there's a beaver lodge built along one of it's bank. They've been there for years and they haven't devastated this pond or it's surrounding at all. I've seen some of the biggest bass hanging around it. Actually caught one of my PB bass in one if there home made channels that they create to get access or get out of their lodge. Come to think of it 99 percent of the time I always catch a bass off that lodge. They do not take to kindly to you standing on their house though... Don't ask me how I know.
  18. I dunno, my lake was in the 70s and with about 2 to 3 foot visibility last week and Yesterday (Labor Day) It was 61* and muddy and murky. went into a back creek where the average depth is 2 feet, I couldn't even see the bottom. I think with all the cool weather up here this lake is starting to turn or it's just muddy from the rain storm Sunday and the windy conditions yesterday. I'm going back out Friday and see if it cleared up. There's no warming trend coming up so far as I can tell by checking the weather forecast.
  19. Could even be real frogs coming after it. You'll know when a bass has it, you'll feel the weight then set the hook.
  20. When i'm pitching or punching and forget to depress the thumb bar, and the weight and lure do a loop dee loop almost smashing me in the head. LMAO, I'm waiting for my moment.
  21. She didn't give much of a fight, just felt like reeling in a somewhat defiant log... If you can smell what i'm stepn' in.
