  1. Kritter is a nickname Ive picked up over the years because people always pronounce my last name that way and it stuck, and Im always chasing some kinda critter whether it be huntng or fishing, hence the get(er) part.
  2. That was a sweet episode, my pops has been a welder his entire life so it was def interesting to watch. He is actually a welding supe now at a company up by ya.
  3. Wow, all walks of life.... Aircraft Maintenance supervisor, soon to be Aircraft Maintenance Planning supervisor. 4 on 4 off schedule means plenty of time for the honey-do list and fishing. Well, mainly fishing
  4. Ohhhhh....Makes sense, I did some googling on them also and found relatively the same answers yinz provided. Always something new to learn. Thanks
  5. Ok you seem versed in crappie fishing, anyone else with input feel free to chime in. Question is, I was at BPS at saw these ridiculous looking rods, super long and thin, with tiny little reels on them. All were designated as crappie rods? Why?
  6. Even though I do live in MD, the eastern shore is a whole nother climate as compared to western MD. Ive been lucky as to been able to fish pretty often this winter, although my wallet has felt quite an impact(Thanks Lucky Craft). But my best spot has been under drawdown for the past 2 weeks, so other than trying new spots and buying to much new gear Ive been gathering supplies for surf fishing, never done it before and figured since I moved this close to the beach might as well try it out.
  7. Yep, thats the same size my buddies use. Fall and spring seem most productive with the 110's
  8. Their jerks are quite popular, Havent fished them personally, a few of my buddies will swear by them though. What size did ya pick up?
  9. LC Pointer 78sp, can find em for 10$ if ya shop around... The rapala x-raps are really nice too for half the cost. Slow retrieve, snap the lure every few feet let it sit for 15-20secs and continue the retrieve snap cadence again... Ya can normally tell what the fish want in the first couple cast.
  10. Whenever my buddy ties a lure on he makes sure he "sweetens" it with a lil copenhagen flavoring. I think he just dosent want me to ever ask to borrow a lure haha
  11. All I fish normally and in the winter are shallow, small ponds. Fish the side that gets the sun first, the only thing Ive used this winter is shallow suspending jerkbaits, lc pointer 78sp in darker colors has been the ticket for me.
  12. I see a few other guys have posted on this but my local Gander has their last Citica 200E for 69.99.... I bought the last 201E when it was 79.99....I shouldve waited!!! Oh well, keep lookin ya can find em...
  13. Ive thrown everything from 1/4oz up to 3/4 and havent had a problem yet, this is my first year using BC setup so im far from a pro, novice at best. I normally keep my spool tension really light and 2 brakes on. The first day I put em in I was whipping the lures as far as I could just to test em out and didnt have a single issue.
  14. Upgraded my Citica 201E and my buddies 201G with hawgtechs..... For the money it was well worth it. Easy to do also, free spin went from 7-10seconds to 1:56 seconds. Casting 1/2oz cranks probably lookin at 15' more distance easily...
  15. These may get the best of a bass... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hellbender
  16. Agreed.... I watch the pressure quite regulary, and yes it has a huge affect in my area, the deepest pond is around 14-15' with most areas around 5-10'. I would have to say that the pressure affects the ponds around here more than most being so shallow and realatively still current.
  17. The yinz, hoagie and pop def gave away my hometown Pittsburgh...
  18. Just gettin into the baitcasters I bought my first one this year, a Citica 201E and LOVE it.... My buddy got the G and there is a def difference in the two( I like mine better lol) I was lucky enough to get it at a steal as it was the last E they had left and they were clearing out for the new shipments, $93 out the door...
  19. Thats a helluva reel man! How do ya know what parts are interchangable between the Shimanos? Also how did ya go about drilling the lighting holes in the thumb rest?
  20. Haha, very true...Guess Ill have to brush up on some clay pigeons and RC helicopters
  21. Love? Eh not sure if I will ever love work, but I do enjoy it while I am here, and I dont have to drag myself outta bed to get here. Great people to work with, I think it takes a special breed to work aircraft maintenance so all of us have something in common while at work....
  22. Lol, well I dont personally order from Amazon, but if my neighbor is ordering that spiffy new reel.....Well than that might not be a bad one to shoot down...
  23. I even found a scematic for it on line, if anyone has directions to a owners manual that would be appreciated!
  24. Thanks RM, I do appreciate it!! Seems like everyone who has or had one loved it....From the light duty aspect, I think it has a new home as my crappie reel.
  25. Yesterday a guy saw me with my new reel and asked if I like the baitcasters, I agreed that I did and today he brought me in a older Shimano Bantam MagPlus BMP150X sg. Needs a lil tune-up and oil but seems to work nicely. If anyone has any info on it would be greatly appreciated!
