  1. Just another thought. Before I bought another meter I would check a known good battery (truck, mower, whatever) with the one you have. If it seems off then maybe time for a new meter. Don’t know what electronics you have but most graphs you can navigate to a screen that will display voltage they’re getting. If that agrees with the meter then it’s something other than the meter I would think. Based on what you’ve said I would think it’s something else. For sure keep us updated.
  2. I’m not real familiar with those batteries or that particular charger. Just throwing this out there in case, are you selecting agm mode on the charger? It’s my understanding that you have to make the selection on those.
  3. I’m sorry that you’re going through that. I can’t speak personally about anxiety or depression other than to say even as someone who typically doesn’t have to deal with that, this current situation with all its uncertainties can be unnerving. I have found myself to be at times over the years what I’m going to call unmotivated. Sleeping more than I need, being lethargic in general, just not having my head in the game. What works for me is almost always physical exercise. Running, walking, biking, weights, hiking, mountain biking, whatever. It can be really hard to get that ball rolling though. Me personally, if I say ok I’m going to get back running consistently next Monday, It never happens. I have to just jump in. Everybody is different though. My worst enemy is boredom. If I get bored I get down so I just do the best I can to to always have something to be in to. The first step is the hardest but once you build some momentum it gets easier. In the same way that not being motivated leads to being even less motivated, being active typically leads to being more active. Also helps if you can have someone that holds you accountable. Not necessarily in a drill sergeant kind of way but just to keep you focused on goals. Just some thoughts. I hope it gets better for you soon. Just keep your head up.
  4. Never been on Lake Michigan. Used to go out on Erie with my grandpa though. He was careful about the weather and I’m sure we were fine, but there were a couple times it was pretty intimidating even in decent weather with a little wind. It’s been a long time ago but I remember him talking about how fast storms could form over the lake. I also remember sitting at their kitchen table looking towards the lake watching blue skies turn to puffy clouds, turn to almost dark in what seemed like a matter of 20 minutes. I’d imagine Michigan is the same. Definitely something to be respected. I’d say that was one long mile for you.
  5. Well nothing like what you describe. I wouldn’t say “caught” on any of these since they didn’t make it in the boat but. Years ago my buddy had a gull come down and grab his soft jerk bait, believe it was a Mann’s shadow. Didn’t get hooked but she took flight with it for a period of time that felt like a minute but was probably several seconds. Had another bird, a large one, that kept diving after my spinner bait. Never connected though. I ended up catching a 3 pounder off the log I was fishing. The bird just sat in the tree looking at me like hey what are you going to do with that? Had another friend with a squirrel that went crazy trying to get a frog. Again, never hooked but not for lack of the squirrel trying. A few years ago I had a turtle, believe called a red eared slider grab a jig. Fought it all the way to the boat. Guess it was just holding on the whole time and spit it out at the gunnel. Not hooked. A couple weeks ago I had a large alligator snapping turtle grab a creature bait and put up a pretty good fight. I don’t know how to size up turtles but it was about the size of a 20# propane tank laid on its side. Again it wasn’t hooked. Got it to the boat and it pulled the bait off. I was glad of that.
  6. No doubt. I’d imagine 7 miles out in Lake Michigan in an inflatable kayak can turn not ideal pretty quick. Glad it ended well.
  7. Nice job!
  8. Watching Johnston is making me seasick are home. It would be tough just to stay on the boat let alone fish.
  9. Man that’s a tough question. So many good ones out there. No way I can pick just one. If you’d narrowed it down a little with a specific technique it would still be tough, but a little easier. If I have to pick just one it’s gonna be a tequila sunrise power worm by Berkeley.
  10. As said above sounds like it is likely lack of fuel for one reason or another. Is there anything different about the 25% it runs well or is it just random? Do you have a way to check the fuel pressure between the pump and carbs?

Bottom one is a Risto-rap I believe. I think they run about 10’.
  12. There is definitely no better feeling when your plan results in a good bag. Congrats!
  13. Well it took me 2 weeks to get back on it, but it’s better now. Pulled the carrier back out, cleaned everything back up, re greased the prop shaft seal, put it back together and torqued everything back up. Maybe before I just put grease on the prop shaft and when installing the carrier pushed most of it down, leaving the second lip of the seal mostly dry. I would typically put grease on both, I think I was in a hurry when I did the job originally and that can get a person in trouble for sure, maybe I didn’t. It also looked like there was a little film just forward of where the seal contacts the prop shaft on the shaft. Can’t believe I wouldn’t have cleaned that better, but here we are. Got it off this time. Much more freely rotating. I said everything looked in order in the original post but I wasn’t looking hard enough I guess. I appreciate the reply @WRB
  14. Whew. That was an intense last few minutes around the cut line.

Great looking fish! Congrats on the PB!
  16. @A-Jay I hate that. Maybe they’ll interview him about it tomorrow. I always like to know how they turn it around since I’m usually trying to turn it around myself. I just caught the last bit. MDJ looked to be sweating bullets as that clock wound down with him just north of the cut. A lot of pressure for sure.
  17. Impressive way to follow up a bad day for sure. I didn’t get to watch much today, what changes did he make to turn it around?
  18. Same here. I kept watching, but it was driving me crazy. To be fair that’s a short drive.
  19. Have an old Browning Vectra. Not my highest dollar rod and she’s probably close to 25 years old. I guess it’s probably still one of my favorite rods for fishing t rigged worms though. I know nothing about rod building or construction, but is this chipping/flaking something that can be fixed? Is there any reason to fix it? Also has an eye that moves around on the blank but I could rig that with superglue or some epoxy I guess.
  20. I know nothing about your specific boat but I had a leak similar to that when I first bought my current boat. Kind of the same deal. If I ran around and stopped and started a lot with the OB I got quite a bit of water. If it was only one or two runs with the big engine it was a lot less water. If it was no running the big engine it was no water. Ended up being the seal on the lower side of the rub rail. Being that you only get water when using the OB I’d look at things that only see water when you’re getting up on or coming off plane. I wouldn’t necessarily think the drain plug is the issue.
  21. In my opinion you’re better off with MH if you have to pick between the two.
  22. Pretty darn good first 18 rounds!
  23. @WRB I’m fairly (99%) certain of it. I actually did this a bit back and am just now revisiting it. I greased the prop shaft as well as the inner lip of the seals with grease as I recall.
  24. Put some new seals in the lower unit when I replaced the water pump. Prop shaft seals, carrier o rings, etc. After completing this the prop has some resistance or drag when you rotate it by hand. Hard to quantify how much but if I take my foot or hand and spin the prop it only spins as much as my foot or hand moves it. No more. The more you spin it, it seems to loosen up somewhat. I’ve pulled the carrier back out twice to make sure everything looked in order. It did. It doesn’t feel like a bind, just a constant drag. I’ve done these seals in the past and don’t remember that drag. That’s not to say it wasn’t there, I just don’t remember it. Any thoughts or advice on this?
