St. Croix Avid Vs. Rage
St. Croix has stellar service & a high quality product. I have used them for 20 years.. Most dependable rod company in the world, IMO You don't need a lifetime warranty... It's not a realistic term. They stand behind the product. In other words, they are not going to haggle with you. Buy with confidence..

Two Quick Questions About Elaztech
Modern day hooks might, might get a bit of rust after a looong time being embedded in a plastic bait, hooks may get a spot here, a spot there, it will not hurt modern day hooks! That rust, if left rigged long enough will transfer to a soft plastic. Easily seen in white colored plastics. People also talk about leaving a hook in a fish & it will rust out in a few days, that's bogus too, perhaps it may in saltwater, but I don't see it happening in a few days. There are salts in freshwater as well, nitrogen run off from crops, lawns etc.. Urea nitro is widely used outdoors and is a prime suspect. However diluted the "Salts" become, they are still present. Best chance for a salty hook rust out in or out of water would be a needlepoint tip..IMO

Has Moss / Aquatic Vegetation Gotten Worse Over Your Lifetime?
State of Florida drew down Rodman & ran D8 Caterpillar's in & thru it to clean it out.. (80's) So yes, it does indeed happen, to what extent it is dealt with or whether it is or not, is decided by state agencies. Tougher winters keep a lot of weed growth in check.. Further south, into the Deep South other measures have to be taken as you mention. Fish happen to enjoy hydrilla just fine, it's the fisherman & boaters that frown on it, at least many do.. It sure can choke a lake out though.. Lake Monroe in Indiana was a very good bass lake, till the state embraced a eradication program to deal with Lily pads.. Lake has never been the same.

Megastrike is safe to use, Mr. Bobby himself has stated that before, it won't hurt to have or leave them pre-rigged.. Just don't allow them to contact other plastics..

Quick Question On Yo-Zuri Hybrid
Why use it? Because I like it, why? Cause it's a tough line, it's reasonable in cost & 17 years of using it, I have supreme confidence in it. I put CXX a close second w big game right in the hunt. I'm not a braid user, and content with Yo & CXX For me, it really shines in rocky environments.. I use from 6 to 20#..
