  1. Geez, that sorta made me feel "OLD" lol
  2. Where's ole RW been lately? Anyone know? Nice fish there buddy!!
  3. It sure is a problem, I can't even tell you how many poor ducks I've rescued from mono.. It's a chore, been seeing more braid issues lately too. If it makes you feel any better I caught a can of spam in a creek in the 70's.. Thought it was a big ole rock bass, nope just spam.. We opened it up, it was good & green.. Hook grabbed the finger pull and that's the truth.. What's the chances of that? Anyway, it's the only can of spam I ever caught! Litter is so lame, even city officials at louisville ( funny but sad ) a couple weeks ago the Ohio river flooded then receded ( normal ) but, they were down on the banks shoving all debris right back into the river! I lost it, ( laughing ) I thought ok.. Trees, wood, but this was tires, playground swings.. I mean just about anything you can imagine back in the river. Philosophy was it came from the river, back into the river it goes. Money.... Can't afford to dispose in the land fills or burn. Louisville & some of southern ind. gets water from the Ohio river! I have never seen such a ridiculous action as that one.. Simply stupendous, IMO goverment at it's finest...
  4. A person would probably wear out a spinning reel fairly quickly in Central Florida pitching or flipping.. Hydrilla is/can be so thick.. A baitcaster is more suited to the job than spinning IMO Knock yourself out with spinning.. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't take long for someone to convert to a BC for that job, in that location....
  5. LOL... I'm just pickin on ya! Seriously though, good stuff on the potential dangers of sunlight. A young person should heed this information and incorporate all the modern day technology into all of their outdoor activity's. I guess I'm just to ornery to comply myself ( sorta older too ) wait, being older is suppose to make me wiser, yea, ornery is the right word!
  6. Yea, I'm not so sure that hunting bluegill is a marketing tool to find bass or big bass or #s of bass... I can honestly say, I've never launched my boat, saying " geez, gotta find the bluegills to catch bass" bluegills are everywhere, I mean everywhere. When it does seem important is when bass are bedding & when bluegill are bedding. Learning prey types in your water is important, but still just a piece or two of the puzzle.

Yup, after Kerosene, ( great eye candy vid ) I lost interest in her... Blake Shelton puts on a great show.. He maybe going the way of Hank Jr. With the whole booze thing, lol oh well.. Life in the fast lane!
  8. Wow! So do I!! That's funny.. I was so tired of cable, after 37 years, I was paying $180 a month. I stopped it & it was misery for months, however I'm so glad I did! For many, many reasons. I just love Aflac commercials...
  9. You are so right.. I like & have drop shot jackal clones in 5 fow and they hate gills then.. Frankly, I have done well drop shotting a zoom super fluke to though.. I don't bed fish anymore, but it can be a blast to do! Also I see no harm in it myself..
  10. What Bass may or may not be doing on any given day has to almost, always be determined or re- determined each day... Just because there's hoards of bluegills or just because there's hoards of crayfish don't mean they are eating them heavily that day. Eg, fishing a fertile lake I fished likely areas, Crawfish, young of year, etc.. Slow really slow.. Running banks now in my boat.. Looking at trees, catalpa worms falling in the water, well now.. That makes for a fun day! Caught around a dozen 2 pd fish, next.. I see splashing over by the Dam head.. Fish are school busting bait balls apart, motor over, catch em on a Luckycraft rattlebait in 30 fow... About a dozen more or so... Studying Prey sources is a good thing, but.. It's not everything. Skills come with time served, as well as fishing great waters..
  11. https://www.yahoo.com/music/bp/flavor-flav-explains-why-wears-clock-necklace-155453176.html Better ask this guy...
  12. Pretty good stuff about Indiana gulfcaptain, considering your in Cali ! It's true though.. Bass get on beds, bluegills harass bass terribly, then gills get on the nest, bass get some payback! Then they seem to get along in close proximity, that is till the bass decides to eat one or two..seems to me like bigger fish, 5 pd and up like to camp out close to schools of gills, even bigger females ( likely ) camp out underneath schools of bluegill & particularly crappie... But, I don't exactly hunt bluegill to catch bass, it's a good learning point to assist and understand at least one important food source, IMO there are other far more important issues to learn concerning LMB. Structure/cover, all available food sources, plenty of great reading on LMB right here on BR it's fairly free.. Study some in-fisherman articles, ( past & present) for more freebie articles on panfish & crawfish... ( try throwing a storm bluegill swimbait) They are available at Walmart & other places, they are ultra affordable and they work! You can even throw them on your Abu's lol..
  13. I like the Donkey rig myself..

  20. Ah cool.. Thanks for backing me up A-Jay!
  21. Either.. Both those reels will be excellent, both reels will have a different feel though, a 2500 or a 30 size should be just about perfect..
