  1. a1712 has some shimano complex bb spinning reels w shallow spools in the flea market right now! You may wanna check those out.. Pretty sweet reels IMO ..
  2. In my opinion, yes! However, on a rough shore bound angling situation, I can see your dilemma. 3 hours is a lengthy feeding period. But, doing what you did after the active bite, would be considered appropriate, ( jigging ) etc.. If there are beds in the area, your likely to stand a chance at sticking additional fish. Not feeding fish, bedding fish. Good luck! Sounds like your on them good!
  3. Once upon a time, it was very difficult to obtain a Quailty 2,3,4 piece rod.. That is NOT, the case today. Choose the tool you need, with confidence!
  4. You could read on color temp. Or kelvin and learn more about this..http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_temperature Vision screening in the US Naval service is such that either you see Red & Green or you do not qualify to serve. Period! Basically a series of repeated color testing, one is not likely to "game" this testing either.. The majority of men see color the same, maybe "perceive" is a better word. Red is the first color to go. Colors are lost in the the ROYGBIV order.
  5. If I didn't know better, I'd swear they were fishing in Southern Indiana!
  6. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/153684-celebrating-the-first-day-of-spring-with-fire/#entry1729863 Check this, it may explain..
  7. Your going to need a bigger boat!
  8. The fish simply became "full" of shad.. Move and locate different schools. Sounds like a very good day!
  9. Money talks ...but all mine ever says is good-bye.
  10. Go with your first impression, if you feel it's to small,(reel) then it's to small. It will work for wacky rigs, but if your already uncertain.. Get a bigger size..
  11. Wow! Talk about ripping lips.. I hear ya!
  12. Yay! I voted that way.. Great choice! Congrats. I'm sure it's going to be great fun!!
  13. I did it.. At Jeff boat, fabrication of Barges for ACBL in the very early 80's.. 1st class, wanted to learn underwater welding via the U.S.Navy.. But the 2 year wait was more than I wanted. Arc, Mig, Tig, Plasma, Oxy/Acetylene cutting & brazing.. Geez, that was awhile ago.. I can still do it though. I don't miss it at all, flash burns, vision impairment, smoke inhalation, 2nd degree burns, yea, been there and done it! Pays well, especially in a good union environment.
  14. That's a secluded looking spot there. Reminds me of a couple places on Long boat key I fished.. No competion to speak of, the water edge drops depth really quick though, lots of large shark too. Nice fish, cool pic..
  15. Chigger Craw, Rage Craw, Pit Boss, those are my choices.. I like the crazy legs version as well.. As a stand alone rig..
  16. The young lad simply doesn't know better, I would have at least engaged him Initially.. (communication) is vital, I feel you could have diffused it at that point, possibly. However, I do agree with several posters here.. Bottom line, it's never, ever worth fighting, police involvement or a restoration of hurt pride over a fishing spot.. Some things in life are worth fighting for ( literally) Somehow, I don't see this as one of them... Best wishes though...
  17. Salt & Pepper which is a clear body w black flake
  18. To some extent, but not as you may relate to say, braided line, or dry mono, ( before mono absorbs)Yo doesn't absorb water, like mono. I use # 8 crankbaiting a lot.. Pretty much # 4 to # 20 on most things. I do use other lines though. Sounds like your successful with braid/ leader, I wouldn't change either I suppose, if I were content with it.
  19. I started on it in 99 been pretty impressed with it over the years, especially in rocks/riprap, I still use it in #20, flipping/pitching.. The stuff is just tough as nails..some folks don't care for its handling characteristics, it doesn't bother me at all.

  21. Wow! That's pretty amazing..
  22. With all due respect, I would quit fishing! The Answer is, Yozuri #12, tomorrow I may say #10, so.. 10 or 12, lol
  23. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/153277-say-it-aint-soxcalibur-hi-tek-tackle-going-away/?fromsearch=1 Read this very recent thread on the topic of x or ex and then you will have a better understanding.
  24. Yup, very good bait.. As is, most rouge baits..
  25. Let no one say there are no special advantage's to living in the North Woods! I'm jealous!! Been looking for decades to see that splendour.. Enjoy the show!
