  1. Shoot, my old calcutta b size 50 was tiny... That reel was a lil tank. I fished it hard for 10 years, replaced the clutch bar, once.. There is not a tougher shimano reel around. I may spring on a 100, idk, I can be patient thou... I guess, lol
  2. Is that the only issue? Wacky rigs? Could be a hook problem, I had no difficulties with it for the one year I used it, my 7' avid ml has more power for sure, and cast just as well if not better.. I'm also not a big braid person, that may help too.(Braid) Some carbon has a good bit of stretch as well, it may not cure your issue. Again your selection of hook could be the issue.. Then again, you may need to step up to a bit more power. The falcon also did well with 1/4 Oz pop r style baits.. Casting well and with sticky sharp owner hooks, no issues sticking fish. @ 30$ that rod is a bargain..
  3. I'm a little surprised, no one has elaborated on blade colors, as in gold, silver or painted blades. Even the older powerbait spinnerbaits ( Jay Yelias) had clear polycarbonate blades.. Blade shape plus finish plus # of blades plus weight of spinnerbait plus skirt color and no wonder there's a lot of questions on the topic, oh, frame material, stainless, titanium, etc.. I'm confused just tapping this out.. Lol. I really liked the Spro model that had I think it was 4 willow blades, looked great in the water and caught good numbers. I work a 3/4 to 1 oz at night, with a big Colorodo blade in the areas adjacent to river channels.. Other than that I don't use them much now.

  6. Depending on your reel, 6 to 8 Pline, Yozuri hybrid #6 or Silverthread in #8
  7. Open hook presentations, ( tubes, small crankbaits like dt4 etc.. Wacky rigs, again a open hook rig... I owned that rod & it worked fine for what I listed... My son broke it. ( he's so hard on equipment) lol..

  16. I'm putting a Flir system on my boat this winter.. Seriously, I am I believe fish see in IR and I don't worry about the science part.. Wood baits seem to work a bit better for me in spring, maybe a heat signiture? Idk.. But it's my theory and that's the fun of it for me!

  21. What lake is it? There's a few California guys on here can help you, you will have to either contact your fisheries dept. talk with local experienced fisherman, catch them, photograph them and cross that info online or on your state website.
  22. To many bullet weights, to say, but I can tell you for sure that it's well beyond the range you will be shooting at... I'm not sure where your going with your question, is this a matter of potential over shoot or safety?
  23. This is correct, the hottest teams right now, as I see it are Greenbay, New England... Everyone else seems beat up & tired. Peyton looks to be in pain throwing the ball, it will be interesting going forward, as it is every year...
