Male Or Female Bass??
I'd find another friend, lol I'm a sport fisherman & I can't tell... Big girls on the bed, yea female.. Outside that I couldn't tell you, shoot some bed fish I have caught may be male. I wouldn't stress over it.

Issues With Springy Line (Way Too Much Memory I Believe)
As needed, if fishing rocks ( who doesn't ) every 3 trips maybe more, in salt I would change every 2 days ( bass size reels ) there's break offs and other factors too.. I fish a fair amount, every day the last 10 so it depends... But I can tell you @8$ a spool of CXX @ 330 yds is cheap enuff for me to change out as often as I want and not sting.. In fact, if I don't do this, my confidence may suffer. I have changed my line out often since the 80's it's a old habit and it is a good one to get into. However, you must understand this is my way, it is not suitable for all folks, but if using nylon blends, I don't know why one wouldn't. Perhaps it's overkill, but I'm not changing now! If you spooled up & did not fish for a couple months the line is fine, might have tight coils but it's still good line.. Just harder to handle, even heat will help the line relax some...

Issues With Springy Line (Way Too Much Memory I Believe)
A softer line.. As in Pline CX or trilene xl both are softer lines thereby easier to handle, those lines will coil up too though after a couple months or so.. Change ur line more often. Depending on how often you go.

Bites But No Hooks
My guess is also panfish, it's also true that bass will not hold a jig/ trailer combo as long as say a trig soft plastic, sometimes the jig bites are violent but more times than not a quicker hookset is needed than say, on a soft plastic bait. As with most things fishing, there are a lot of variables.

Hookset Philosophy
Good answers. Around here, ( probably other places too) the bluegill & redear love to take a bite outta 4" senkos, with that in mind, I hesitate some, or I will be jerking way more than is needed. I try to line watch as much as possible but as far as Hooksets, I swing for the fences, Ajay & Mitch covered the particulars quite well, so I won't divulge on it anymore. Quakenshake states my preferred method on timing. It does vary some.

P-Line Cx
Well that did it! I'm going to buy the L&L today & try it... Like I said in another thread, it must be superior, so many fisherman talk on it.. Gotta try it now!

Issues With Springy Line (Way Too Much Memory I Believe)
Sounds normal for the line and duration of time on your spools, I don't use a line conditioner myself, however 99 out of 100 guys prefer KVD line conditioner. It must be superior.

If spinning, did you overfill?

What Brand Trebles Do You Use?
Owner, and a bit older mustad Triple grips. I bought some new pkg. triples @ Wally market this past spring, they were not the same elite treble I was use to. Standard point that was quite dull.

Inexpensive Crankbait That Is Awesome!
I bought a few in like 02 or 03 for my son.. I was teaching him, he would clobber LMB on those baits... They had way small saltwater type hooks on them. Swapped with gammys...

Rod For Finesse Jigs
I throw 1/4, mostly 3/8 on my heavy ***, works fine. Same thing on my loomis & Croix heavys.. No issues, With casting or pitching, a medium may help overcome your issue, sounds more like a reel setup problem to me though. I use 12 to 20 pd. CXX or Yo, sometimes 15 FC.

How Accurate Is Accurate?
Accuracy is overrated, I subscribed to George Cochran's theory on casting, ( over cast a target and reel back into it) pitching & flipping, a quiet entry is worth more to me.

Ugly Stik Elite Spinning Rods
I don't think most folks are complaining about their rods breaking, but rather are sharing information. Customer service feedback is important as well. Of course ugly stix will leverage fish. Contrary to what most people think, they fail as well, most of what I've seen are guide failures, lots of them.

P-Line Cx
I use it a bit, CXX and yo is about all I use. It's great line.

Drop Shot Gear

Yea, new pic looks way good!

Pitching Distance
Just lotsa practice, it will be quite a bit different on a floating platform, the more you learn your rod/ reel & low trajectory in your yard, you can learn it again on the water, in wind and current.

How Many Casting Combos?
Now I most definitely know there really is gear heads worse than me, although not by too much.. Still, I can't imagine taking 30 rods & reels out for a outing or a weekend either.. You guys are sick! Sick I tell you! Lol..
