First Baitcaster Today
Idk about just knobs but maybe you can see about getting a handle w/ knobs from okuma, you may call them and see, or if they have a IPB.. On line it may help. I'm thinking there should be a crossover handle that may suite you.

Trash...
Lots of folks fought for our freedoms way before you & I did... Litterbugs abound, I don't like it either, but that's life..& freedom. Freedom comes with a lot of personal responsibility. Many folks make mistakes or exercise bad judgment. We have to take the bad with the good. There's no other way. That is exactly why America is the greatest country in the world.

Would Upgrading Bearings Help Cast Farther? Curado 200I And Avid X Combo.
It's not the reel..you just need to practice with a 1/2 to 5/8 bell/ bank sinker and preferably ditch the braid ( lol ) put mono on.. Just to learn the reel.. I can throw 190' with a 3/4 on that reel.. I just think you got learn the rod & reel.. The bearings are plenty good, as is the reel.. Practice in the yard, at the park anywhere that's open.Just to become familiar with that reel @ 1/4 is not advised.. That can come later. 2 brakes on is plenty, rotate you're dial to max, then back off in small amounts, remember you are trying to become familiar with the reels capability's, as well as you're own.. Even going 3/4 will help you build confidence while helping you to understand the mechanics involved with casting a baitcaster. Practice at the park/ yard.. On the water brings different challenges.

I Hate When People Write In Cursive...
Cursive is not obsolete, not yet. Both my 15 & 17 year old children know it, they learned it in school. It it necessary? I do not know, but I'm glad they learned it. I also taught them morse code as well, lol...

Dobyns Rods - 1St Time Customer - And They Just Feel Weird - Why?
I believe, in just a bit of time, you will get use to split grips, I didn't like at first either, but I adjusted. I don't know what to say on you're rod power selections. There's the Flea Market, I'm sure you could move them pretty quick there, maybe!

Spring = Fall Patterns?
Around here what Catt said is exactly true, no shad in several lakes I fish, massive crawfish feeding going on right now, in slab rock, in the afternoon warming of the sun, craw dads get warmed up and become more active. Fish staging in 6 to 8 fow. Then move in and eat. It's the exact same as in spring.. Food related, primarily- warmer water for different reasons. Food ! Where my fish are staging, is the exact same area they bed at in spring... It's soo easy...

Top Casting Rod For Plastics And Rat-L-Traps Under $100
I use to throw both those baits, & more on a heavy lews rod, years ago. You can do it. I never had a problem. I really don't know what rod to recommend. ***, used, or powell diesel series are decent sticks, with a mh you could make it work..

Do I Really Want To Spend The Extra Money For A Stradic Ci4+ Over Say The Symetre Fl?
There is .8 difference in weight between a 1000 and a 2500 .. 6 oz vs 6.8 oz, or.. A 3000 is 7oz What rod/ presentation? I would probably opt for a 2500 but I like all three with the 3000 my favorite..

Why Aren't Phenix Rods More Popular?
What Jrob78 says, between that company & lamiglas I have yet to run into either company's rods anywhere in Ky. Or Indiana..

Red Hooks
The old late 90's Daiichi reds hooks had very durable finishes but those hooks have been long gone except for a couple boxes I still have.. All the newer ones are like described by the above post.. I don't think there's a bit of diff, from the fishes point of view on the color.
-
Red Hooks
Buy them if you want.. No pro & no con, No diff...

Spinning Reel Bail Closing - Why Manual?
Seems like some reels have a gruff bail trip mechanism, isn't that more of the problem, rather than the actual bail spring? It's attached to the rotor assy. Right? I don't work on reels, so don't flame me too bad, lol..
