  1. Xcalibur , Jackall has circuit board lips, I have done pretty well with not destroying too many.. But I push them hard ( rock banging )
  2. A C-rig w/ swivel, the ideal is using a heavier main line while using a lighter line ( mono ) or copoly) thereby allowing two fold, leader lenght, and choice of pound test. This allows you're bait to potentially float & allows easier break offs on snags. This is the way I use a C-Rig. It's a good way to probe and discover structure, and locate fish.
  3. Oh come on! Gauges are soo over rated!
  4. It's a GM product, lol!
  5. Yea, a few I saw in spring were Trokar hooks...
  6. I am all in on the Geishas!
  7. A cast net? Or? I am not familiar with the laws of you're state, only one recent law am I familiar with, I would suggest contacting a conservation/ fishing law enforcement type and fully understand the law, penalty's are steep nowadays. I want to be exactly sure every year about new changes.
  8. I think Red label is a starting point, plus it's pretty good for soft cover, not incredible, but has pretty good feel on slack line senko work.. I use 20 and it's not bad...I don't use L&L cond.. But lotsa folks do
  9. Yep, I always liked throwing a Bagley's Dredge crankbait... Then trolling, caught Bass/ striper.. Plus learned some neat details about the lake..
  10. The lightning rods of the 80's were quite popular and good sticks for the money, I used a couple spinning... I had no complaints.
  11. Yep, I have had waaayyy more fishing crap than I would ever, ever need. In 2009 I had 60 rods, ridiculous just utter nonsense... My wife Griped all the time.... Countless reels, line by the pound... Hundreds of cranks, God only knows how much weight in lead, tungston, hooks, plastics... Massively, completely ridiculous... But I have learned finally to defeat the bait monkey , sort of, I just bought another Glx.. I don't need it.. But, I wanted it.. It's a life long Addiction, truly..lol
  12. Fenwick also made incredibly sensitive Boron rods.
  13. LC? Nooooo, it's a Yozuri, lol..
  14. You should Always, check you're line Often, when probing with spinnerbaits, you don't have to have caught a fish to check/ retie.. Use Yozuri or PXX And forget braid! Lol....
  15. Yea, I equally hate pistol grip rods.. I know how you feel, the older Abu round reels were built like a tank, I seen more than a few veritas rods broke at the handle,I thought it was peculiar, and it never crossed my mind they were spliced, makes perfect sense now.
  16. I would use a drop rig too, 3/4 bank sinker, bell, whatever, hook rigged 18" off the bottom... You going after Flatheads or ?
  17. Palomar, improved clinch, Berkley use to have a segment called Knot Wars, they tied and compared different knots, maybe you can google it, idk....
  18. I like minimas too, should I replace the tip with a sic or similar material? Haven't had a problem but just wondering if it may avoid a future problem.
  19. @ Docters inlet, Big Fish around that area about Jan. thru Feb. also Redfish, crab, shrimp come into the river , it's a brackish water system I assume you know that, I use to watch the crabs and male bass guarding the nest, fight.. It's frigging Halarious ... I also fished Black Creek a lot @ green cove springs... Don't know what part of the river you are located at... I have not fished there in a few years, but I can't imagine it being much different. I caught Buku 6 & 8 pd fish at Dr's I can tell you that... Plenty of big fish there..
  20. I had a diawa green rod years ago @ clearance for 39 it had a solid graphite tip spliced in.. It was kinda different ..
  21. Wow! Great photo- doc. I would quit fishing if I had to use Abu- anything.. Lol.. Geez, what crap. I really hate to be negative but some company's deserve it, I guess....good luck on the repair..
  22. Even from shore, there is most always deeper water avail. Squarebills for shallow , Rapala Dt series baits for that bit deeper water, Dt4-Dt6-Dt10... From shore that will about cover it, much deeper than that.. I am going to just Throw a Trig Some guys like the store brand cranks, I have never used them.
  23. Yes Sir, I was a huge fan in those days, plus I really liked the Jimmy Johnson era too!!
