I used a heavy 6'6" rod in Florida for years... It was fine, I fished the thickest hydrilla on the water, no problems, I also used a 6'10 pitching rod by loomis (gl3) it was a great rod for pitching. Doug Hannon used 4' custom builds for close combat and said it was a load of fun fighting bigger fish.... I don't see it as a issue really, I do use 7'11 , 7'5" & 7' heavys... But sometimes that extra length does get in the way...

I love Tungsten, I do feel better with it, I also use tungsten jigs, it's become silly high in cost though. Ultra steel, I can feel pretty good with it too, I have been using it in tube rigs & drop shot rig's Brass is good too.. I wish ultra steel would stretch the bullet weights, thereby giving it a chance at a lower profile.. But it's got a good feel to it.. Just huge in size, lol

I had two all star 7' popping rods that took a set in the mid 90's , I made that post based on my experience and no other reason.

Verticle with support is best, leaning against the garage wall/ corners of you're house, is a big no no

San Fran sucks.... Lets see how the saints play 2nd half... I wouldn't count them out yet...

Braid has no slack line feel. Period. On senkos, I fish them without additional weight. I also use owner hooks W/ cps... T-rigs cover a ton of plastics, but, with senkos I never use a slip- sinker..1/2 on top of a 5" senko seems a little much to me. Go much lighter than 1/2 if you must. I am not a fan of braid, but 20 seems a bit light as well... I still suggest FC , however for weighted rigs braid will be fine ( bottom dragging ) Senko's, I fish on FC .. I expect my strikes to come on the drop. Then, I pop them hard off bottom & repeat. It takes a bit of practice. Mh on the rod the way you want to rig it. Use a senko anyway you want, that's the way I use them. You can use a mono or FC leader. Spinning gear is great for wacky work... Line watching & feel are still vital for both styles of fishing soft plastics....

Do not stress, it does have a learning curve to it. Line watching, feel, or lack there of...it simply takes a bit of learning that's all, when I learned I used a clear/ blue fluorescent line.. It helps with vision... FC , helps with supreme feel... I use a MH or H rod various lengths for T-Rigged anything. Wacky/ open hook rigs on the same plastics, a Medium power... line watching & feel are critical elements of this. Start using a clear blue line till you pick up a few strikes, then if you desire switch to FC... Perhaps you may excel at feel rather than line watching, both, IMO are critical. Last but not least, don't give up... Like I said it does have a learning curve to it.. Same as jig fishing.

Absolutely Color in soft plastics matter, years of fishing has proven this to me, I have my favorites and there's a reason why. Many do not believe it matters, yet I am pretty sure they throw certain colors as well, I believe it matters in hard baits as well... I also believe in the matching the hatch philosophy. You can't have confidence if you don't have success, my color choices are pretty limited, they always work...

I ran stabil in my fuel/ oil mix & fogged my Yamaha every year.... Never, ever a problem.. My Dad, used to do nothing to his merc.. He never had a motor problem in 23 years of running All this sugar in our fuel is soo redicilous it drives me nuts,

Do not depend on a partner... Learn to have more confidence in your own ability's would be my advice. Oh, and, buy more Beer...

LC Pointers, Jackal 60 & 70 series... Both baits hover at $17 a pop... Yep I've lost them... I have also destroyed Dt6's a good deal.. @ $8 a pop it can add up, gotta pay to play.

Crash them into Rocks, brush, stumps.. I really like banging them into riprap and I will destroy a few each year.. But it's effective and rather enjoyable.

(Kidding) yea, plastics are petro, they leech out, same as a plastic bottle, don't reuse a plastic bottle or drink outta one you left in the truck say over nite ( opened ) some company should work on a line type that would dissolve at some point.. As far as 600 years? Geez, that's a long , long time for line to live.. What about Braid? Seems like it could decompose quicker than say nylon- composites. Anyone know?

Do you even know what you're saying? Have you ever even pitched or flipped in moderate to heavy soft cover ( hydrilla, pads. Milfoil, etc.) ever pull out a really big LMB with 4 to 5 Pds of hydrilla? The Rod , Reel & Line must absolutely be strong in order to achieve the basics of the 2 techniques. How about using 1 & 2 oz weights try that on you're panfish outfit... A strong 6'6" rod will get it done... But I use 7' .. 7'5".. And 7'11" sticks, all heavy, all moderate/ fast actions.... 20 to 25 pd hybrid or CXX Sorry, but Strength is essential to flipping and pitching. You can have marginal skill sets with strong equipment and be successful, weak equipment and great skills? Well good luck with that...

Why wierd? Small, Medium, Large, what's wierd about that? I use Owner Twistlocks W/ CPS.. I usually also rig a bobber stop as well, open hook rigging (wacky? Is just the correct size heat shrink and it works, even if it's slightly oversized.. There is metric sizing as well... Some folks use a rubber band.. Whatever works, plenty of rigging options that's for sure. Rig them T-rigged with whatever hook you like then use 30, 40, 50 pd mono, co-poly, fc and run that thru the hook eye...

I slightly disagree. There are Rods that we have all heard of that routinely break much more often, for a multitude of reasons, than other brands.. I have broke 2 blanks in 30 years.. I have had other things as a reel seat issue, as well as guide issues ... 95% operator error is giving the China Rod manufactors a free pass... I guess I have been privileged to see the ones that are continually returned and replaced ... They are both ( brands ) white rods...

FC is my choice on slack line senko/ trick worm fishing..
