  1. Yep, the great outdoors has been a big, big part of my life... I have worked outdoors, & played outdoors, doing many, many different recreational activities ..... I have been blessed to have experienced so much... And for that, I am most thankful....
  2. I think they are quite good at 75... Or less... I use a couple spin rods and they are good rods @ the less than retail price.
  3. Sweet Bob, you been catching some respectable fish in Ohio! Sweet Core...
  4. Saros is a great little reel, but that Ci4+ is awesome.... It's a bit more, so my choice is a Saros for the money...
  5. That Type R is sweet, hmm, maybe it's getting time to re-introduce a new Daiwa....
  6. You're wasting you're time & money on Revo anything in my opinion.... If you want to have options look at Shimano & Diawa ... Both company's make stellar reels..
  7. Try FC rather than braid... It should help you feel a bit quicker, but it still happens occasionally.
  8. Yep.. I do that with spinnerbaits sometimes too...
  9. ^^ Yep, contact Falcon, and the lighter is the way I have done it as well, a good stick glue, like what's used in Archery Is ideal...
  10. Wow, that's a big squarebill, does it weigh 2 ozs like the 10xd?
  11. Hey Danny, welcome & enjoy the forums....
  12. Try a smaller hook on a jig, 1/4 to 5/16 or so... Lite wire hooks will penetrate easier with that rod, yes you can catch bigger fish on you're rig, but on baits? There are limits to that outfit, it will do many things well, just not everything.. You will ultimately have to use it to see if the rod ratings are accurate, mostly close....but it's not a exact science.
  13. Yes, live bait, no to bass frogs, yes to smaller cranks, no to normal bass jigs, read you're rods labeled rating to have a better ideal on lure weights, smaller lead heads/grubs..... Lotsa uses on that rod & reel, and above all... Enjoy!
  14. Yes, many of the Florida Guides use to guarantee a 10 pd. LMB or no pay... Wow.. Times sure seem different now though.
  15. ^ I hear that, had one come from Cali that was Broken, Beat & Battered... Same with my rod, it was unscathed.
  16. I can throw 1/4 easily on the Curado I, but a 50/51 might be a better choice... They throw those weights pretty easy too...below that, for me, spinning takes over...
  17. Wow! I love great deals like that! Way to go!!
  18. @ DSG.. There's one right next to my local BPS.. Plus 3 more in Louisville... They run these sales All the time... There might be a lull for a couple weeks, but when they run those deals, I buy everything I can....
  19. I get zoom trick worms buy one get one, plus I have been getting senkos for $3.20 a bag... All spring/ summer... I usually can get powerbaits at a dollar.. And the only bait I need to pay full price are Rage craws.
  20. Sweet! Congrats on a great fish & nice story....
  21. I have used a few guides in my day... Never once did I personally feel threated by my guide fishing, and a couple times they asked if I minded... It is a non- issue for me...
  22. Yea, Romo being Romo...
  23. Long Mike, I frigging lost it when I read that!!!!
