  1. Power for me Heavy... Taper is Fast and, moderate fast, Spinning I will use a medium power with fast... For smaller lite wire swimjigs and such.. 7'11, 7'5" 7' that's all I use, I don't miss many.
  2. If you store them in the original bags, that will eliminate a lot of issues.
  3. Looks like I am going to try the Alberto myself now.....
  4. Many try @ QB..... And... Lol... Can't do it.. Great talent in collage just doesn't always carry Over to the MANS Football game.... The Defense loves to crush young QB's.... I say outta the league by year 3 back up maybe 3rd string... Who knows
  5. I should add.. That my earlier post was same water color, and Gold flash excells at it, as well as chrome, however that was LMB, as far as Smallies? None in Fl. That I ever caught, so Mr. Hottle is a smallmouth Fisher, I would pay attention to his color choices, most Defiantly.
  6. Well, believe me, I and many on this site have been using Baitcasters for a couple of 3 decades, Yikes, that stung a bit! Anyway.... It gets WAY better, you are beginning a learning process and will accelerate with that Reel. In 3 months, you will be so improved. As far as Grips? I personally like them just fine. A Hawgtech grip with cork, would be to you're liking for sure, I put a 102mm on a reel, it is awesome, it improved the performance of my, CTE200GT 5:1 as well as looking very cool. Shimanos line lay on spinning is the clear leader as well as some other factors. Glad you like! Happy Casting.....
  7. Nice Review, I have been using these, albeit, sparingly, I have 6 packs only, various styles. Nice!
  8. Well I am like you, right now I am trying braid again on one rig+ Floro... I have been tying with San Diego.. And going to try a Blood knot.... I am prepping for the Fall.... I am confident if I tye the knots properly.... Based on the many recommendations, they Will hold, I hope anyway.
  9. I stuck my biggest carp, close to 50 pd. on A red wiggler....
  10. What these other Guys said, A staple for me in Fl. Has always been Gold... Rattle baits, Green Pumkin Gold Flake,Straight tale worms as well as chrome rattletraps and black ribbon tales... Good luck on you're Tournament
  11. Yea, Speed that's a fine hookset on this Vid...
  12. Sounds like its working well for you, if you're happy ! That's a good thing, nice review on the entry level equipment!!!
  13. My speed is 7.2.1 8.1 is way fast Some Guys are using it but have not heard much on it. ( 8.1)
  14. A couple of d**n funny post responses LOL!!! Oh Lord, man I needed that... A Jay... You're killing me! OP funny arse post! Geez, I guess Iam with A Jay Or call the Fire Dept. drown after fire? Good luck.....
  15. I agree, Hawgtech... Carbon Fiber, Top shelf, they can add color, anodize other pieces of you're reel if you desire, great, great service. A handle w/ bearings Abec 5 x 4 spindles is quite reasonable. I use them. I like them real well.
  16. I can't speak to the Megabass, but to Croix, it's a fine rod, I think it's a touch towards heavy rather than MH, if you will, a MH Magnum? Fine rod, USA made, a company willing to please, I think it's a fine choice.... There maybe a couple guys on here that can enlighten you on Megabass, hopefully some that has used one! Good luck!
  17. Saturate fish that water buddy, I mean make a day of it.... 7" T rigged strait tail worm... You seen them, now you gotta slow down and soak that worm.... You do this? You will catch fish. Also get yourself a large, size RAPALA topwater ( Balsa) Rubberband those hooks against the body... Fish it at first and last light, or shade... And catch Bass.... Done all I recommended and caught LMB to 10 pounds.... Now, go catch those nice fish.... You can thank me later!! Serious, fish that water 10 hrs. A day... Get Bit...
  18. Tru Turns absolutely work, and well, you will need to use a appropriate file, sharpen them up, and they will work.... I think better hooks are defiantly available.... I have not used them since 93.... Except on panfish .... I saw them a couple weeks ago at BPS.... Like 2$ plus.... For 6 or 7 5/0 hooks... Not my choice now.... But yea they do work.... Still issued to military survival kits....
  19. Exactly this! Check Valley sports .. BR Sponsor... As well as other sites for great deals on the Tat... DSG.. On veritas, as well as other places, lots of slashing on rods going on since I-cast! Good luck!!!
  20. Hi, Enjoy The Forums....
  21. Of you're listed Trailers I pick cabelas twin- tail to start.... After that, maybe side rig that bug, I would get some good Hammer boot tails... I don't care for the swim senko, but it should work, other folks like them.
  22. I got a couple 3 rods I wanna sell but I don't cause of shipping cost, plus no rod tubes.. It's not feasible for me.
  23. Alright now, talking Phil, Hunt, Fish, campfire, And my personal Fave, Old Forrester! Sippin! Hey u wanna going fishing? Lol!!!!
  24. That fish ain't close to 16" but next time use fishing line and measure, then when you get home get out the tape and measure the line.
