  1. Yea I would say so... Especially in a fly rod... Fly rods , well made, always seem quite high in cost,Still holding up?
  2. 10 pound on spinning? You will probably still think it sucks. Been using it since 2000, I throw 6 pound on spinning ... 10 on baitcast, no problem , it's a stiff line at 10 for spinning unless you got ultra soft... Silver thread is a good co- poly too... Who knows.... Hope it works for you.
  3. Dang, I just had to click on that, now it's stuck in my head.... Hadn't heard that song since, uhh, 69? No , cool vid, old song , diffrent for-sure..
  4. Try rage rigging a craw, Texas rig a 7" power worm with a tungston slip sinker, try a top water cedar bait with dual props, there will be places you can throw it, or even pitch it, A faster frog bait presentation too... Gotta junk fish sometimes!
  5. You're hand holds the rod Feel ends at you're hand, I believe a reels seat can make some difference in feel.. How much? Idk.. But I can feel more on certain reel seats than others
  6. Nice lookin bait where you find those?
  7. I also had a Fenwick Boron rod in the 80's ( later) idk whatever happened to it, and I still have a quantum boron 2 pcs that has served me well. It's been retired for sentimental value.(spinning) The fenwick was pretty pricey, around 80$ the quantum was 16.99
  8. Hey Iam still liking those myself, I am tired of split grips too... But idk... Doesn't seem to be a better alternative outside of Custom... Still more Rods to come.... Thanks for the link
  9. DVT is just trying to help and also offering his service which he is a expert at. If they are under warranty send them back... Sounds like user error to me.
  10. Rather than SW use red label a much better line than SW... It's (Red label) it's a decent FC for soft cover only (IMO) not good on rocks... Then there's Yozuri hybrid super tough/ strong... Doesn't have great feel but it's a dependable line and is made with FC in its make up... Pline is a great Co-poly CX is a softer line CXX is a very strong and durable line as well, CX is FC coated, CXX is coated with something.. Not FC though its called a silicon R Flouric Resin coating that repels water so the line does not absorb water like mono. Good monos are Suffix, triple fish, sunline, Ande, and others.....
  11. The post got flip/flopped
  12. Awwww, the lil baby keeping mama and daddy up?
  13. I just mounted one of my Curado I on a 7'1" *** ***, and Wow, it's got a awesome palm ability to it... I have a chronarch 50 married to it, but now I am like unsure, the I has defiantly more power... I really didn't think of it on that rod. Now I might pony up for a *** w/ recoils! Or maybe a AvidX.. Lol... Here we go again!
  14. I know on the kistler.. I worried some about that too, at some point I didn't anymore and I have enjoyed it a lot since loosing the anxiety
  15. Oh yea, there are some toads in it yea, but your also right about its heyday... I hope it does come back.... I always loved it in the Fall a beautiful place, a lot of great days on it since about 81 for me.... I would have a couple years of great fishing, followed by years of horrific fishing. But I do hope it comes back. Hard, hard, lake to figure! Tight lines to ya!!
  16. LOL.... HaHaHa, I thought it was going to be a all negative rant! Too funny!!
  17. You guys stop getting rattled over a couple remarks by a couple of folks dismissing fatigue or plainly said being tired.... It's real,we all know it is.. No big deal... Have to work around things like this. It is being Human that's all fish the best you can.
  18. Started at 3, but began buying my own rigs and such at 13.... It's been a great hobby... I love fishing for all fishes, honestly .. Inshore is my fave but bass fishing is my passion... It's a small world when I look back over these 35 years.... I have learned more than I can ever use, but it's safe to say the future of fishing is not at a loss for participants , great gear abounds great lures of all types. There's a lot for many of us to share, and still so much to learn.
  19. I am curious, I have a kistler spinning rod the original helium Lta series, blue titanium depo. Coating on zirc. Guides, 7' full cork handle. It's a awesome rod@ 280$ in about 03 still is awesome in 2014. So how many of you guys are using older high end rods still and are still very happy with them. What rods do you have now that are 10 years old or older and still perform great? Only higher dollar rods as in better technology/ better graphite blends etc....
  20. My Bagley collection from about 79 to 2008, I sold them off to a collecter, I made a fair amount of cash and a GLX flipping stick with recoils, but I wished I hadn't
  21. I do believe it's a great move for him, and the city, of course I also believe he can really be a great leader there instead of wasting time with the internal politics that plaqued the Heat. I think he has a breakout season in leadership!
  22. Plenty of green reels out there... I still like the AvidX but I can't tell ya the specs on the crucials guide trains , anyone know?
