So I looked at you're pic... If that's the only water you fish... You don't go to lily pad/ hydrilla infested waters.... You certainly can use a medium heavy.. My first answer is based on the premise you would fish all over Florida in that case a heavy with out doubt... Trying flipping a 8 pound fish straight out with hydrilla all over her and you will understand....

I have used those with good results... I have too lost fish at the landing... I use a heavy moderate fast rod... I don't think the hooks are bad.... Just have to have a good power stroke ! Lol!!! Good fishing to you...

It's pretty bright... I don't know if it will dirty up or not... Looks like a on the water shoot out !

Shimano curado 300D,older model,or E newer model amazing reel so overlooked in my opinion! It's capable of meeting a multitude of uses.. Not just heavy baits but also cut/ live bait presentations... Deep cranks are easy work for it. I love this tank... 10.2 oz but fishes easily.. 29 Ipt! That's pretty fast! Just a great reel that lasts, and last.... You fish one for a bit.. You won't look back.. Never wonder if you have enuff reel. If these had been around in the 80's? I would of had a fleet of them.. I have even flipped with these in Florida ... I know it's a bit more than you wanna spend... Maybe find one used.... It's awesome! Good luck ,whatever you do......

I have a 7'11" w/ Pac bay MiNima guides.. I like them ....hard chrome over stainless... I don't use braid though... Also I still have a 30 year old Lews with oxides... Still great... Also boron rods with oxides... No troubles... Early braids destroyed rods and reels... Most were Kevlar ... But it seems newer braids are friendly to most guide trains. I've seen so many failures with micros with rings poping out.... So I believe ring materials are up to the task.. But ring/ frame designs are, in some cases needing work.

Just another example of... Nobody else in the world matters! It's all about me..... Ramps? Are the worst places for me... Now there's a lot of great manners shown too... Along with teamwork but it always amazes me how a person can use A 60,000$ rig.. Or a 600$ rig... Bad manners, law breakers run amuck!

I cannot remember a more brutal winter... Followed up by a even more perplexing spring.. Seems we got all our rain in a basic 2 day event.. Just a really wierd spring period ... Gamakatsu 25 , P-line 25 CXX Or Yo-Zuri 20 That's on a 300 series shimano... All those lines are Rock solid for swimbaits of most sizes

So it's either yellow or white... Yellow for visibility and white because no Dyes... I really want to use yellow but I Do Not Want bleed out on my reel. Is there a yellow that won't bleed? White wont.. Right? Appreciate you're usage opinions... Best stuff at any price!
