The only reason I would really even use Braids/ super lines is sensitivity ... I don't use it... For me anyhow, mono, copolymer is plenty good enuff!

Yea, I was pretty excited to hear about the new Imx.... I looked ,mounted a reel... And..... Would not buy.... It's a disappointment I cannot for the life of me understand the direction This company Is going.... Geez... Hope the GLX doesn't go bad!

Geez... When I salt/brackish water fished... I would change mono about every 3 to 4 trips... Maybe sooner... It's still often... Fishing in rocks.. You just about have to re- spool pretty often... I keep fresh line on.... It's a old habit... I can't imagine going a year and not!

Another alternative is use a stout piece of copolymer or fluorocarbon 30..40..50llb On a big enuff hook eye... Insert a piece thru Ur soft plastic... Into.. Thru the hook eye and out The bottom... Trim... And it will hold ur plastic Quite nicely...I have used round toothpicks too.. but I like FC best...

The Triumph was first made in china... The rods We're good quality.. Unsure what year 04 maybe? But at some point they(st.croix) invested in a plant In Mexico ... Rage, mojo, triumph.. Are made there now... At first Croix was making the blanks Here and trucking them down, and then back. Quality was terrible... But is better now... Also the Blanks are rolled in Mexico as well. I would really Look hard at them... But look hard at other stuff too! Good luck.. My personal cheaper rod is ***.... I know it's a great rod! I like my American made rods best.... $$$!!!!

Buy a better quality reel.... If you're sending it off For repairs a second time.... I know that's not what you wanna hear, but repair costs, shipping, Over a couple times of that and boom you're Just going to be thinking on a replacement anyway.... I do wish you luck on getting back to Fishing...
