  1. If you have never seen a LMB/SMB go belly up? Or bleed out from ... Say a crankbait hook harpooning the top of the head.. Or a jig deep throated.. Open hook tube... Geez... I have seen and been apart of this many times..... It happens.. A lot more than some may want to admit.
  2. Yep... What he said, except spook.. Assuming heavier vegetation
  3. I have 2 Fuji inserts that are loose... Pacbay minimas? I like them.. No trouble.. Recoils? Same.. No troubles... Micros? I won't use them. I see unbelievable #s of these damaged or missing inserts. That's my experience. I would rather just use Fuji aluminum oxides w/ full size frames than micros... Other than minimas
  4. Couldn't get vid to load.. ( phone) however with the Transcript feature,( really nice..by the way) I picked up a nice tip! Coat hanger! I never thought about that... Also itty bitty bell sinker... Cool tips.. Always picking up tips on Bassresource.. I love it!!
  5. I feel certain that many folks fish a Senko way fast! I start out somewhat impatient each season.. Then I get back into the flow of basic dead sticking... Tricks... Work real well fished quick or slow... Senkos dart too... I fish the senko slow, tricks, quick!
  6. Nice work young man! Good fish, Good pics!
  7. Count it.... Make a note on it
  8. I believe they have a lot better action Carolina rigged than Trigged w/ ss... I think that's where the Fluke excels is that erratic action... The lighter the better.. Just like a senko... But I use them on a swimming Hornet too... So it's just a versatile bait.
  9. I like senkos way better.... That said, the trick worm is useful and economical! I like the Magnum too! But is more costly. I been using fluke sticks.... I like them really well too.
  10. I would replace it... Pline at 8$ for 300 yds... That kinda heat? That's what I would do.
  11. Wow, very interesting... It's very insightful to me.
  12. Welcome ... My family is from WV.. My dad lived on top of Black mt. In Harlan after a move..it's some of the most beautiful country... Even after coal mining... Enjoy the Forums!!
  13. 5.25.... Idk... Pictures are deceiving somewhat.. Concerning weight anyhow.... Always a nice fish above 3 pounds though!!

You know I appreciate that post Teal, I really do... I served 8 years.... It did come with a cost. I wouldn't change a thing, I am and was Honored to serve this country that I love... So very much
  15. I wonder if there's largemouth there.....
  16. Tatula of you're choices...... No doubt
  17. I like my Shimanos.... The Curado I is a very strong.. Well built reel. Many say Lews... Many say... Diawa Tatula... It seems many folks are very happy with all these selections.... The new curado palms easier than the tats... Sooo... I say you should handle whatever reel on said rod... Then see how you feel... Also braking... Many have said choose a braking system you like... That may help..... But there's a lot more to it than that. In the end this is still you're choice! I don't like the t-wing myself... I can outcast these reels with any of my shimano reels... But again, that's me. Have fun trying to decide... It's part of the fun! Good luck... Let us know what you decide!
  18. 1/8 oz roadrunners... Look at some jig heads for walleyes.... And some soft plastic body's by linder brothers...
  19. Look for a Diawa tatula... Around 100$ or little more... Maybe a Bps carbon lite or like robster80 said a falcon.... Look for used like new stuff and get better stuff for less! Plenty of choices for 200$ out there! Good luck!
  20. When in doubt.. Choose Black.... Heck, I have a hard time even finding it... And with bass pro & cabelas within 45 minutes... Go figure...
  21. Between *** or Powell ? I had a endurance I currently own a *** heavy.... I like the rod well enough.... Go Powell ! It's a better all over rod.. I had a 775.... It was just a little too soft for me, and for its chosen purpose... It's a very good rod! The 13? It's ok... Just by no means my fave! It's really just a back up rod to my loomis rods! I think you're thinking in the right direction, IMO !
  22. I couldn't agree more about the Recoils... I like them.. And.. They are ugly... But I also like the Pacbay minimas... What's wrong with us!??! Lol!
  23. See the thread... ( People keeping everything they catch) its just very recently been discused
  24. I bet those rods can really be fished proper now! Looks great! Very nice now!
  25. Really prefer a full cork.... That said... The split grip of loomis rods are the most comfortable in a. Split grip for me... But... I will take a full cork any day over split
