Been using Tungston since about 99.... It's not because it's smaller.. It's cause it is so Capable of greatly enhanced feel... At least to me... I like ultra steel for some drop shot rigs and tube rigs.... It offers a enhanced feel too! But, it's way big in size... If it works well enuff, Use lead, brass, ultra steel... Tungston has become crazy high in price... Glad I got a lot of it!

Use a clear blue fluorescent line... With a semi slack line.... You may not feel a pick up... The line will start to become straight, with tension Or it may move to the left, right or come straight at you... It's kinda hard to explain ... I learned in the late 70's I haven't had to think about it much Hang with it.... You will get bit... And each time will be a little different ... It's a fun learning process! Enjoy you're self! I like them... They are not all created equal though... The denser the better.. I really like Hypalon... I am not a owner of the rod you have Maybe in time you will at least be able to tolerate It. P-Line CX Premium.. It's a fluorocarbon coated Clear blue fluorescent and handles very well On spinning at least I think.... Easy to see above Water... It's reasonable in price... Easy to find.. 6 or 8 on spinning should be fine...

The Canadian company who owned carrot stix Sold to a Chinese co. Now in California. My advice is to look at other rod brands... I have a 7' PG rod and it's good with mono.... Very lite, very sensitive ... I got it for 40$ new! Stay away from them.. Look at *** or Fenwick

If you have no past experience with baitcasters... Might I suggest that you use a softer line in A cheaper product line.... This allows you better Casting control, saves some money, and when You do severely backlash... It won't be as painful Cutting out the Yo- it's not a easy line for beginners , just a friendly suggestion. I have had a hard time finding it even at BPS... At any rate Good luck!
