shimano curado 101b
Cant help you with a spool, but the right and left handed reel spools are identical, and interchangeable. Good luck on finding one.

How It Started
No longer have them, but I too started out with the Mitchell 309. It was a right hand crank. Even in those early days I had to upgrade, so bought a set of gears for a 409 which I fitted to it. Gears were faster which helped take up the slack line when a bass would "kank" your plastic worm !

Need To Fix My Shimano Calais 201A
From memory, the removal of the handle side will require you to remove the non handle side too, as there is a screw holding the handle side plate that can only be accessed by removing the non handle side. It is a tricky process that may be beyond the average tinkerer !

Need To Fix My Shimano Calais 201A
Thanks for your response.Interesting ! Goes against everything I know and ever read about this subject. Will try it on one of my own reels to see how it works .

Need To Fix My Shimano Calais 201A
Please confirm that I am reading your post correctly. You recommend that grease be applied to the roller clutch bearing ? Sure way for it to fail in my humble opinion.

Need To Fix My Shimano Calais 201A
Like Dave, I am also having a hard time visualizing the problem. Firstly, the roller clutch bearing does not have anything to do with the spool. The drive shaft sits inside that bearing. It would slip if over oiled, so a wipe with a few Q-tips will sort that out. Removing that roller bearing can be problematic. Sometimes they come out easy, other times they won't budge. Had a special tool made for the purpose.(see picture below). The spool is supported at either end by the spool bearings, so unless one of these is missing, or broken, then I can not see any way that the spool will move back and forth, or up and down. Send it to DVT, and he can sort this for you. Would be interested to hear his diagnosis !

Quantum Hot Sauce Reel Grease
As someone who services and repairs reels for others, I would never use the "red" stuff in any of their reels. Experimented with it for a period some years ago, in my own reels, and was not impressed with the damage caused by dying the internals. Impossible to get clean, even using a US cleaner. Shimano plastics are meant to be white not PINK !

3/8 Oz. Jig Rod- Nrx893 Or Nrx894
The 893 is about the best rod I have ever used for anything up to 1/2 oz. The 894 is an overkill as others have mentioned. Sweet rod

Questions About A Bantam Curado
Great reels that are still being used 20 odd years after they were introduced. The B51 is actually a right hand retrieve reel, with a lower 5:1 gear ratio. There is also a very slow 3.8:1 , but more rare. Very generous gesture by the "older man" !

Most Ipt Shimano Reel
As far as I am aware, the Met XG at 36" is the highest IPT baitcaster available from Shimano. Great reel !

Shimano Citica Ci201G6 Vs Chronarch 200E7
Your existing setup is a leftie, so would suggest you go with the Citica, as that is also a left cranker. The Chronarch you mention is a right handed reel.

Abu Garcia Revo3 Stx Breaking Issues
It seems that this is a problem that others are experiencing with this model reel. Apparently 3 of the breaks are pitch breaks, that are designed for pitching, and the other 3 are dynamic, and spring loaded. I do not know that the issue is solvable. Just a different way than Abu users have got used to. A bit like the change with Shimano going from VBS to SVS.

Abu Max Series Reel Noise
Just a warning that you should never spin the handle on any baitcaster and then press the thumb bar. It can cause damage to the internals that you would not be happy with. The sound you hear is the reel moaning !!

Chronarch Ch100B Part
I have actually done this on a customers reel where I was unable to find a replacement handle. The CH100B has a handle nut plate under the handle. This is removed, and the donor handle then fits on the crankshaft. I agree with others that the ideal is to find an original, or as close to an original handle, but where this is not possible, then the replacement with a conventional Shimano handle is possible.

Chronarch Ch100B Part
Sorry Boss, I must differ. I do believe that the handle from the e series will fit. You need to get the handle, handle nut, nut retainer, and screw, as mentioned by bass raider. Might look a bit better too, unless you are wanting to keep the reel original.Makes servicing the reel easier too.

Most Common Maintenance Parts
Perhaps your reels are different to those that I use. In 35 years of using Shimano, and servicing and maintaining them, I have never had to replace a pinion yoke. That includes thousands of reels that I service for others. I do believe the OP asked for common maintenance parts, so the Moderator does have a point.

Any Experience With Metanium Xg?
Whatever you use it for, it will perform unbelievably well. I use them for bottom contact plastics and it's the best I have ever used. Own most every reel Shimano makes, and the Met XG is my choice for this application. Believe me

Any Custom Parts For The Curado I Series Reels?
You could consider the longer handle from the Metanium XG as an upgrade, if you prefer longer handles.
