  1. My go-to bait is a wacky rigged 5" YCB Senko. I have a set-up dedicated to this and always have it with me. But it's definitely not my favorite way. My favorite bait is a topwater like a popper or spook-type bait. Nothing beats a blow up on the surface.
  2. I hate to be that guy, but that is a chain pickerel. A nice one though!
  3. Watermelon black flake. It's hard to know if I would be as successful but it might be kind of boring.
  4. A Rage Tail Menace makes a pretty sweet non-bulky trailer. I sometimes use half of a ribbon-tail worm (the ribbon end) also which is on the smaller side.
  5. You're thinking about it the wrong way, from a biological stand-point. You seem to think a fish brain works the same as a human brain. The size of a fish brain is precisely why the subtleties make all the difference. Bass do not think or reason, and every action is based on evolution of instinctual reaction. The smaller the brain, the more the animal relies on instinct. Just because we perceive something such as "1mm of extra wobble" as nothing, to a bass who doesn't think or reason it can be all that is needed to trigger an instinctual reaction. Think about it, fish respond to barometric pressure, when humans can't even perceive it without tools. Kind of like a bull when it sees red. Do you think the bull has an honest grudge with the color red because of some deep childhood issue? Or just because instinct? I'd choose the latter.
  6. When wacky rigged, the 4" won't have the same "shimmy" on the fall that a 5" senko will.
  7. Gamakatsu straight shank worm hook
  8. An accidental big pike is always fine with me, but the hammer-handles are a huge pain. They go crazy in the boat, get slime and stink all over the place and are the hardest fish to hold still to take a hook out. I don't know if there is a way around it, largemouth and small pike usually inhabit the same territory.
  9. I abandoned Red Label last year, couldn't do it anymore. I like other Seaguar line, but the Red Label had to go.
  10. So far this year: -13 OmenBlack 7'2" MF-dedicated for senkos -Rapala Pro Guide scale -everything I need for the Ned-rig (heard too many people raving about it, so I have to give it a shot this year. -Rapala Skitter Walks in chrome and bone
  11. For me it's: 5" senko Yamamoto Hula-grub 2.5" Storm Chugbug Rapala DT-6 Live craws (don't use bait anymore but you can't deny the effectiveness of live craws for smallmouth.

White perch is its own species, in the family of white bass/stripers.
  13. I've heard meat scraps work well, but no personal experience for me. I've also wanted to trap some for a meal. I dont use live bait much anymore.
  14. Small Rooster Tails and Little Cleos
  15. What I do is right click on a topic, then select "open in new tab". Then you can just close is out when you're done.
  16. The sheep singing Queen!
  17. That is one fat pickerel.
