  1. @HawkeyeSmallie that’s a negative. The more bent the bill, the less sun coverage it provides. And the New Era Authentic MLB caps absolutely keep the sticker.
  2. Now that us northerners are finally seeing signs of our ice prisons starting to melt away, that means it’s time start getting the garden ready so I figured it was a good time to revive this one. What’s everybody growing this year? For fruits and veggies we have Cherokee purple tomatoes, Honeynut and butternut squashes, cucumbers, jalapeños, habaneros, blackberries and blue berries. For herbs we’re doing basil, oregano, mint, dill, cilantro, parsley, cannabis, and chamomile. Greens are cabbage, Romain lettuce, butter lettuce, and kale. And the ornamentals/everything else will be cintronella, marigolds, milkweed, and a wildflower blend. This coming week I’ll finally have a yard free of snow so I’ll be able to start prepping the garden beds.
  3. @N Florida Mike those are the most beautifully colored bullhead I’ve ever seen
  4. It’s baseball time! Finally opening week! Man, the world just feels so much brighter when baseball season starts.
  5. Spring is upon us, despite the frigid temps.
  6. I usually run about 10’ of leader and will use it until it gets to about 3’ before tying a new one on.
  7. Nearly all my bass rods are dedicated to one technique. Only one or two pull double duty. I have some rods for other species that are multi purpose.
  8. Yeah, we skipped spring and went right back to winter. Happens every March.
  9. Haven’t been able to login on desktop Chrome since the update. The login button doesn’t function. That’s the only issue I’m still having. But I’m rarely on desktop anyway.
  10. Congrats to Venezuela on their first WBC championship. I found myself pulling for them over team USA. The American stars come off as a bit jaded, and team Venezuela came off as anything but that. I’m happy for them. The WBC is really something special. A great celebration of the game and it’s so fun to see how other cultures bring baseball. It’s treated very similar in Latin America and Japan to football in this country. I’m already stoked for the next one and I hope they decided to do it every 3 years instead.
  11. @GRiver knows what’s up
  12. Corned beef and cabbage is one of the most marvelous culinary concoctions in history and I think it’s a travesty that it’s often relegated to novelty food only to be enjoyed on St. Paddy’s day! I have no Irish blood, just love me some CB&C.
  13. Jar’s method to eyeballing the weight of a bass: Give a reasonable estimate of its weight. Subtract .33 pounds per pound of estimated weight. Example: Catch a nice bass that you estimate to be around 5 pounds. 5 - ( .33 x 5 ) = 3.35lbs of realistic weight. But I always keep a scale on me. I wanna know exactly how big that biggun was.
  14. It must be that espresso machine they keep in the dugout lol Their next matchup is gonna be tough, whether it’s Japan or Venezuela.
  15. @Jigfishn10 when you look at all the teams still left they all make sense. DR, Japan, Puerto Rico…and then you see team Italy! Pretty cool. After DR’s showing against South Korea, I can see why they are favored. Soto, Tatis, Vladdy, and Machado in the middle of that line up is insane.
  16. The few warm days we had recently really put the bug in me. Still a couple weeks away from ice-out here in upstate NY but the river is flowing again, as swollen, muddy and icy as it is. I’ve strung up my reels, selected my baits, and got the batteries ready to throw in the charger.

Im a tick magnet. And they go for the worst possible spots on me. I’ve tried all the tricks. I watch ticks crawl across clothes treated with permethrin. I do a lot of outside work and play, and when I come inside my girlfriend checks me over, and the clothes go in the washer on hot. From April to November I just assume there are ticks crawling on me after being outside and check myself accordingly. Remember ticks being a thing 20-30 years ago? Yeah either do I.
  18. The whopper plopper! It’s poised to take over the bass world! Wait what year is this again?
  19. I live about 40 miles south of my favorite lake. Some lakes I fish are 80-100 miles north of me. I rarely travel south.
  20. @Jigfishn10 I haven’t been able to catch any US games yet but they have a stacked roster. Skubal gave up a dinger on the first pitch to GB but the US took that one 9-1. I have a feeling it will be US vs Japan again.
  21. @Jigfishn10 the games have been pretty good for the most part. Definitely some lopsided ones, but I’ve really enjoyed watching. I watched Netherlands beat Nicaragua, Ozzie Albies hit a walk off 3 run home run with two outs in the bottom of the 9th down 2. Doesn’t get any crazier than that!
  22. The real problem wasn’t trading Luka, it was the lack of an actual return package that they received for him. They could have received a king’s randsom, but the Mavs didn’t even shop him around. They sent him away for the first offer they got, Anthony Davis, who is now off the team as well. They essentially gave him away. The fact that they received the #1 draft pick that they turned into Cooper Flag had nothing to do with the trade, they just got extremely lucky, and I’ll avoid putting on my tin foil hat. But they only had a 1% chance in the lottery. Niko can’t realistically clam in that the 1% chance was part of the broader plan. I’d still much rather be the Lakers with Luka than Dallas with Flagg.
  23. Awesome man. When I got my boat and finally got off the bank, my fishing game changed immensely. You can finally hit all those spots on the other side that you could previously only dream about!
  24. Most I’ll ever listen to is a baseball game on very rare occasions, only when fishing in an urban environment. I’d rather hear baseball than sirens and screaming children and leaf blowers.
  25. Time on the water is paramount. When you have success, and then can replicate that success is when confidence comes. That requires time on the water more anything.
