I throw jerks and cranks on fluorocarbon, and topwater on nylon. If I had only one rod for all three, I’d rather throw jerks and cranks on nylon than throw topwater on fluorocarbon.

Somewhere in the last several years I’ve lost confidence using a rattle, so now it’s rare that I throw a jig that has one. The water has to be really stained.

So we get a film and a season 4? That’s awesome. Helps make up for the cancellation of Rogue Squadron

Love what Favreau does with Star Wars. I can't wait for this. If I'm not mistaken, this film will be in place of season 4 of Mando? I have no interest in the sequel trilogy or Rey's story-line. Those movies are really the only Star Wars media I don't like.

I use this stuff. Works well for lawn equipment. A cap full of this stuff every now and then, as well as Fuel Enzyme Treatment added to the gas can keeps my 2-stroke Echo equipment running well.

The 10 or so inches we got Saturday night should be gone by the end of tomorrow. Going to rain all day and night, and tomorrow will be back up to almost 50 degrees. But next week looks like we'll be getting some frigid temps, down to the single digits. Winter is moving fast, but February is always a real monster. I can deal with a rough February, as long as we don't have a March like we did in 2023. Last year saved all it's snow for the week or two before my predicted ice-out date.

@AlabamaSpothunter killin it! You’re reeling in monster bags while I’m getting a foot of snow dumped on my head. Only a little jealous! Seriously though, way to go!

I’ve had success with the boiling water trick. I just use a pair of tongs to dunk the bait, keep the kinked part submerged for a couple seconds at a time, and repeat until it’s straight. Works really well.

Went from 3-5” to now calling for 8-12”. I love my state 9 months of the year, but my ancestors weren’t in their right mind when they decided to settle this frozen hellscape. I hold it against them a little because snow just makes me miserable. And I’m not even under plowing contract anymore.

I’ll definitely be hitting the main 5 in my rotation: A small mountain lake, a medium size mountain lake, a slow mountain river, a weedy bog, and a shallow bowl. I fished one lake in late 2022 for the first time that I really want to pick apart but I never made it there in 2023. I’m going to make it a point to get back there a few times in 2024. Half the lake is a shallow flooded creek bed, and the other half is steep-banked, rocky, and deep.
