Winter 2023-2024
We’ve had some flurries and squalls here, but nothing sticking to the ground. Night time temps have been down in the 20s though so I never know what I’m going to wake up to in the morning.

Do left handers ...
I’m a righty who was taught by a lefty so I fish like a hybrid. I both cast and crank with my right hand, unless it’s a fly rod. With a fly rod I strip and crank with my left.

Have a little issue here
What strange, immature behavior. I wouldn’t fish with that guy. When the people on my boat catch fish I’m always excited for them. Can’t imagine getting upset at someone else catching fish out of my boat.

Razors
Haven’t been beardless in over 12 years, but lately I’ve been rocking the mustache. I use Gillette Mach 5 or DSC razors. The Gillettes are much better but the DSC more affordable. Razors never touch my cheeks, just my neck line.

If You Could Be Any Animal
And you get to eat my entire gardens worth of tomatoes, green beans, broccoli, and cilantro!

Hated sounds of fishing
Jets skis, beavers slapping their tails, and music from another boat are the sounds I hate that come to mind. Loon calls, fish jumping, and distant gun shots from hunters are sounds I love to hear while fishing. During the fall, having a the lake completely to yourself, the dead quiet interrupted only by a distant hunters gun shot really adds to the ambience of fall fishing.

What did you accomplish?
Season isn’t over yet, but i accomplished my first skunkin’ since at least 2016. I fished all of 2017-2022 without a skunk. Ended my streak on a nasty cold spring day this year.

Latest Catch Pics Thread
Cold and windy this morning. Haven’t been on the water as much as I’d like this fall so I was super stoked to get out. Fishing was tough. Wind was tougher. Managed a decent one on a spinnerbait while fighting the constant breeze. Couple other short strikes. Gonna be looking for a giant the next couple weeks. The season is ending rapidly.

Your Dad
My dad is an old hippie who is quickly approaching 80. Seems surreal that I have an almost 80 year old father. He spent most of his life working for the state with developmentally disable people until he became a computer programmer. Hes always been hardworking, selfless, calm and cool. He taught me how to fish (albeit left handed and I’m a righty, so I fish like a hybrid), drive, and most other fatherly things. Couldn’t have asked for a better father. We still go fishing when he is feeling up to it. These days his health and mobility isn’t the best, and he spends most of his time on the golf course or on the back porch with his cigars.

Trailer Hook VS Just Using Longer Hook
If I’m fishing where there is a high chance of pickerel bycatches, no trailer hook gets used. If I’m not expecting to catch pickerel, trailer hook every time. I see no downside to using a trailer hook unless around esox.

@slonezp chili season may only be behind bass season and baseball season ?

Cleanliness
My truck is a work truck. Landscaping, construction, other bullcrap. My car wash bill would make me homeless if I tried to keep my truck clean. I’m kinda a neat freak, but I gave up on the truck.

Never Forget This Date ~
A sobering moment for me on Monday. As a 31 year old in college, I am the only one in my class that was even alive for 9/11/2001. Hard to believe. I can remember the day like it was yesterday.

Being on time
Tardiness drives me nuts. I’m a very punctual person. On time equals 15 minutes early to me. For a job, showing up on time is about the easiest part of any work. If we’re going fishing at 9, I’ll see you at the ramp at 8:45.

Latest Catch Pics Thread
In typical fall fashion, this thread gets lit up with studs. Hopefully I can contribute soon. With school and work it’s been hard to find much time but I’m gonna be getting out several more times this year at least.

The Beer Is Brewing, The Trash Is Flying, and The Race For The Pennant Is On!
This has been a fun ride. Officially clinched yesterday, and to do it in front of the booing Phillies fans was perfect.

chicken wings
Bar I used to wash dishes at when I was a kid ruined chicken wings for me. The wings there were so good, some big and juicy and the homemade sauces were unreal. Now when I have wings from somewhere else they never do it for me anymore.

Summer to fall bass movement?
No Shad in my waters either, but the bass still move up during the transition. The most noticeable is in late august the fish return to the shoreline timber, the same timber that they somewhat abandon in late June, July and most of August.

Stonework, some staggering numbers!

Nicky Lopez even pitched a scoreless 9th to close it out!- The Beer Is Brewing, The Trash Is Flying, and The Race For The Pennant Is On!
@AlabamaSpothunter definitely the most fun game I’ve been to. Originally Strider was slated for the early start but he got moved to the later game. I was bummed about that but I forgot about it real quick when the Braves started batting around and the rookie Winans was mowing the Mets down ?- bare minimum. how FEW rods can you get away with?
Need at least 5, otherwise I’m just up the creek without a paddle.- The Beer Is Brewing, The Trash Is Flying, and The Race For The Pennant Is On!
Went to Citi Field to see the Braves stomp the Mets today. Couldn’t have imagined the scoreboard was gonna say 21-3 when it was all said and done. Complete domination. Got to see the Braves go deep 6 times. They scored 8 runs in the ninth. It was like batting practice on those lowly Mets. Was happy to see a lot of other Atlanta fans at the stadium, including an entire section doing the Tomahawk Chop. What a fun game to be at! Gotta give it to the Mets about their stadium though. Citi Field was a really nice venue. I don’t think a nice stadium will console Mets fans after that thumpin’ though.- Post a photo a day!
Was out of the country for over a week and was very nervous about the state of my garden. Came home to see it flourishing with a lot of fruit ready to harvest. Chocoalate Pear and Candy Apple Cherry tomatoes, scallions, green beans, basil and oregano. We have enough basil and oregano to open an Italian and Greek joint. - The Beer Is Brewing, The Trash Is Flying, and The Race For The Pennant Is On!
