Whose shoes...?
@A-Jay I agree about @everythingthatswims. That kid could seriously fish.

Trophy Hunting
Fish water that you know holds large bass. Fish low light periods, early morning, evening or middle of the night. Look for good cover that is adjacent to sharp contours. Be stealthy. Spend as much time fishing as possible to maximize your odds of running into a giant.

Short rods - when do you use them?
My shortest rods are 6’6”-6’8”, and I use them for topwaters and jerkbaits.

B-Ball
Jokic is a generational talent. He is absolutely masterful, a complete magician with the basketball. He really stepped up his defense on AD this series as well. That’s the only hole in his game. But his historic offense and play making ability more than make up for it. The Nuggets have a perfectly built team around the Joker. Because somebody left Jokic off their ballot completely. He got robbed. He should have easily won his 3rd in a row. Voter fatigue in the NBA is real. Dude is hard-to-believe good. Like Curry 6-7 years ago, it’s must-watch TV. Jimmy Buckets has shown what a leader he is. Plays his best when it counts the most.

I am having trouble accessing this site from my cell phone
Make sure you have a web browser downloaded. Safari or Chrome I recommend. Open your web browser and in the URL bar type: BassResource.com. When the homepage comes up, in the top left hand corner you should see 3 white horizontal bars inside a green square. Click that, a menu will open and you should see “Forums”. Click on that, and you should be on the forums, optimized for a mobil device.

Questions About Deep Cranking
If you want to save yourself a lot of aggravation and get more time with your crankbait actually doing what it’s supposed to, I would use a leader if using braid as a main line. The limpness of the braid will cause the treble hooks of the bait to get wrapped around it during casts. Cranks are especially bad with this. That’s why I have the rule of no braid with treble hooks. If you use a leader it will prevent that from happening which will result in more time actually spent fishing.

Running out of ideas, stuck gooseneck hitch
My first thought as well. That, or going to town with the angle grinder.

favorite Popper
I’m a popper fanatic. My most used is a Megabass Pop Max. Casts a mile, walks well. Don’t love the hooks. I change em out. When I need to downsize I use a Megabass Pop X. Basically a mini version of a Pop Max. Walks well, maybe better than the Max. I’ve had hooks bend out on me on big fish so changing them is a must. Another popper I love is the Storm Chug Bug. Casts great, walks great, hooks are junk, definitely need changing. I use the 2.75” one the most but I don’t believe it’s made anymore. The larger sizes works well also. I think the Chug Bug walks the best out of any popper I’ve used. Other good options are the Live Target Frog Popper (not a weedless frog, it’s a trebled hard bait) and the Yamamoto Shibuki. Nothing these baits do better than the Megabass or Storm IMO though.

Medium for wacky/T rig?
Wacky rigs and other exposed hook weightless plastic techniques I like a medium power. If I’m driving hook through plastic like a Texas rig, I like at least a medium heavy.

braided line
I’ve been pleased with Sufix 832. About on par with Power Pro. Difference has been negligible so far.

The worst thing about bass fishing
Reminds me of the Stone Cold Steve Austin action figure I threw way up into a tree as a kid. It got stuck and I can still see his red shorts up in that tree whenever I drive by my childhood home 20 years later.

Peg your T-Rig?
Only when I’m fishing in the gnarliest timber.

How often do you guys fish?
The days of being a single early 20s and getting out 6-7 days a week are over. Now as a basically married early 30s, if I get out 4 times it’s a good week. Usually it’s more like 1-2 times. During prespawn I make it a point to get out as much as absolutely possible. This is April-December. Rest of the year the lakes are frozen so it’s 0 times per week.

Frog fishing tips
When I’m fishing pads, what I usually do is cast my frog right up on to the shoreline, sometimes several feet up the bank. Then I’ll drag the frog down the bank into the water and pads. You’d be surprised how many fish are pressed right against the bank under the pads in less than a foot of water. This is a seasonal technique for me. Every early summer the bass become catchable this way. The rest of the year I catch more fish on the outside edges of lilies or just away from the bank.

Just bought a Lew's Speed Spool LFS
I think you’ll find that the reel is just what your looking for. Budget workhorse is the LFS to a T. I throw DT-4s which weigh in at 5/16oz with no issue. Just remember that the rod will really determine how far you can cast, but the LFS should handle most weights north of BFS pretty reliably.

The Beer Is Brewing, The Trash Is Flying, and The Race For The Pennant Is On!
@AlabamaSpothunter Elder’s stuff was filthy the first 5 innings, but he clearly didn’t have it in the 6th. Definitely should have been pulled after that first batter. But with our pen this year that’s gotta be a tough decision lol. Was great to see the bats come alive against Seattle’s bullpen, they have the best pen in the majors. How about that behind the back snag on by Elder on the comebacker? That was a Maddux type play right there. That was a great game. Both starters had serious stuff. My favorite kind of game to watch.

Latest Catch Pics Thread
@gimruis Good to see you’re finally able to bass fish. Nice to way to open the season! @AlabamaSpothunter Now that’s a day! Looks like that 7lb was sitting right at a inflow pipe? That warmouth is the nicest colored one I’ve ever seen. Thought it was a cichlid at first. I can certainly relate to the guilt when fish are inadvertently harmed. Our sport needs more people who care about the well being of the fish. And the way you care about the fish, you are waaaayyyyy net positive as far as fish surviving due to proper handling vs fish harmed inadvertently.

seasonal allergies have gone to the next level with me.
Zyrtec! Zyrtec all the way. My seasonal allergies get nuts every May and June and it makes my asthma get real bad. Can’t go far without my albuterol, but Zyrtec is the only thing I’ve found that helps the allergies.

Frog Colors ?
I just stick to light colored bottoms and dark colored bottoms. I fret less about frog colors than any other bait. I feel simple light or dark covers my bases.

The Beer Is Brewing, The Trash Is Flying, and The Race For The Pennant Is On!
Atlanta’s pitching better settle down. If their name isn’t Strider or Elder they’re getting shelled. Despite the records of the 2nd-5th place NL East teams, there is a ton of talent in this division so no lead is really safe. Acuña is looking like early season MVP favorite though.
