  1. Tank of a fish! Your videos are my favorite YT content. Hopefully we’ll still get to see photos of these giant smallies you catch. Like gimruis said, the documentation of your smallmouth fishing has been both inspirational and educational, as well as very entertaining. But seeing your reports is a privilege, and it’s a privilege you owe to nobody. So I am thankful for all the content you’ve shared with us over the years!
  2. Water continues to cool. Down to 51° today. Tough bite, got a couple on a spinnerbait along with some short strikes.
  3. Braves offense has really been firing on all cylinders and the pitching has been a lot better than at the beginning of the season. If we can stay healthy the NL East is ours to lose.
  4. Cold, breezy and drizzly morning, but I had a short window so I got out for a couple hours. Water temps have dropped to 51°(I marked water 65° over 2 weeks ago), so we’ve had a major cooling trend and it’s had the fish in a funk. I couldn’t get much going. Spinnerbait was the only thing they would sniff today. Had some short strikers as well. This has been the weirdest spring weather and fishing I’ve ever experienced. Getting up to my favorite lake tomorrow for a late morning/afternoon session that I’m very hopeful for. I’ll be looking to get back on the shallow wood jig bite. Next week has very stable spring weather so I expect the bite to get hot again like it was a couple weeks ago.
  5. I somehow missed his weigh in even though I watched all 3 1/2 hours of it. But at the end of it big fish was 5 lbs. 13 oz., so there must’ve been some typo
  6. Thought it had to be a typo but d**n, an 11-8 is just wild! Looking forward to seeing that one. Yeah the Scalish episodes are great.
  7. That’s how I heard of Pangrac as well, through BTL. Listen to it every day. Definitely the best bass fishing podcast I’ve found. Am I reading wrong or did Jeff McBeth catch an 11.5 pounder?
  8. Yeah he makes it known that deep fishing isn’t his specialty. Was happy to see him almost in the top 10. I’m rooting for him.
  9. St. Croix AXC68MXF is a great topwater stick, but I also use a 6’6” MF Fenwick HMG that I really like. For reels I like a Tatula SV TW XS but also use a Pflueger President XT that throws light poppers really well. Line is always 10lb Trilene XL for trebled topwaters.
  10. I would add a 6’6”-6’8” M-XF with a 8:1 reel for a dedicated topwater set up. I always have at least one dedicated topwater rig in the boat.
  11. I’m a little out of the loop. How can I watch this without cable? Is there a way to stream it online?
  12. I was skunked during a 2 hour morning sesh about a week ago for the first time since at least 2016. Sure I could blame it on an extreme cold front and fishing a new lake, but I was skunked and there’s no way around it. I had completely forgot what it was like to take a skunk. I was humbled but I’ll be danged if it didn’t motivate me.
  13. So sorry to hear about Fenway. I have no doubt she lived a very happy life with you.
  14. And they need a body of water of a certain size to be able to take off properly. They have to run on the surface for a good distance before they get the lift they need to fly.
  15. Unfortunately no time, but they rescheduled for August 12th when the Braves come back to Citi so we’ll be there for that. It’s a double header so we may end up getting tickets to the second game too. I hope I luck out and I get to see Strider for that game at least but it’s only a 20% lol. Yeah I gotta get down there. I saw a couple games at Turner field in 2004 or 5. Seeing them play at home in the new stadium would be awesome.
  16. Im jealous. I haven’t been on a good crappie bite in a long time. My favorite fish to eat. I catch them every now and then while bass fishing, but when I target them all I end up with is a stringer full of perch and pumpkinseeds.
  17. Which manufacturer is this from?
  18. looking better as the day goes on, but I wonder how wet the field is from yesterday. Been following the Mets weather forecast Twitter and it seems like they’re gonna try at least. Gonna be a soggy cold one but that’s what the beer is for ?
  19. Yeah it’s not looking good today. But im hopeful. And I gotta represent while I’m down there! Gotta remind all those Mets fans who the NL East really belongs to.
  20. Fried with another dominant 5 innings. They’re in a delay now but they went 5 so he’s be eligible for the win. The chances of them playing a full 9 tomorrow seem very slim.
  21. @AlabamaSpothunter tomorrow I’ll be at Citi Field to watch the Braves stomp the Mets. And I get to see Strider in action. I’m pumped but the weather is supposed to be terrible, I’m really hoping they can get the game in between the gale force winds and inch of rain they’re callin for… I saw this. If New Era was smart they’ve would have capitalized on this opportunity and start selling huge hats. But nope, gotta stop the fun!
  22. I use a 7’-7’3” MH-F rod with 40lb braid to a 25lb fluorocarbon leader for jiggin and wormin.
