Moderate Fast Tip For Jerkbaits And Topwater?
would 684 or 685cb be a good length for squarebills too? for now I need something that can double for both

Tying Braid To Backing
Ive never had a problem with a uni to uni knot. if I put braid directly to the spool i usually put a single layer of electrical tape on the spool before i put the braid on. seemed to work for me.

Moderate Fast Tip For Jerkbaits And Topwater?
Was looking at the dobyns champion 704CBs. thats why I ask.

Chronarch Ci4+ Or Revo Premier
I know, ahh! But i just spent quite a bit of money on my dobyns champion extreme and core setup from other sales. I'm really trying to control myself. But its such a good deal!!!

Moderate Fast Tip For Jerkbaits And Topwater?
Is a moderate fast tip really good for jerkbaits and topwater? I was under the impression you wanted faster tips for those techniques to have more control of your bait during retrieval.

Chronarch Ci4+ Or Revo Premier
I definitely think I'm going to go the the CI4+ over the premier. I do like my current Revos, but I feel like I'm selling myself short by not trying other reel brands. Plus, the CI4+ had to have gotten best freshwater reel at iCast2013 for a reason. Ill be getting the 6.2:1 for my topwater, jerkbait, squarebill rod!

Finally Treated Myself!!
I literally just got the same setup except a Core 50MG. I'm super excited too!

Fireline And Topwater
It might be more difficult with "walking the dog" techniques with braid if youre not used to it since the braid can bunch up/wrap around the hooks, but that can be countered with the practice. I dont think a leader is necessary. Having the right rod for topwater will help as well.

Hi-Vis Colored Power Pro Braid
I'd love to know too.

Chronarch Ci4+ Or Revo Premier
I did notice the profile of the CI4+ and the way it fit in the anglers hand. I have the STX and from what I've seen/read, I dont see much difference in the Premier aside from the carbon handle which helps it be lighter than the STX.

Chronarch Ci4+ Or Revo Premier
Well you have experience with both brands so your opinion is relevant!

Chronarch Ci4+ Or Revo Premier
Okay this is probably going to get a lot of biased opinions so this is really geared towards anyone who has used both... I'm looking for a new baitcaster for either topwater, shallow crankbaits, or jerkbaits, maybe even some light jigging/t-rigging (but mostly the first 3). My new reel will either be a Revo Premier or Chronarch CI4+. All my baitcasters are some sort of Revo from the S up to the STX and Winch. However, the Shimano Chronarch CI4+ looks very tempting to me. I have not had ANY bad experiences (knock on wood) with my Revos so I'm hesitant to buy another brand. I do love the Revo drag system. Anyway, does anyone have any experience with both reels that could give a little information on both the Chronarch CI4+ and the Revo Premier, and which may or may not be better for the applications I listed above? Thanks!

Hi-Vis Colored Power Pro Braid
I feel like that makes a lot of sense about the red. Depending on light conditions and water color, I can see red not really being "Hi-vis". Yellow it is!

What Length Is Your Jig Rod?
Good enough answer for me. For the record, I wasnt trying to be condescending or a jerk. I was asking out of legitimate curiosity. I figured my plan for jigging rods would be like a 6'8 MH for tight space/skipping, 7'-7'2ish MH or H for all around pitchin, then my 7'6 XH duckett (love that rod! ) for heavy pitching/flipping. If I want to get crazy, maybe another of each setup so i can have a different bait color/style instead of retying.

What Can I Use This Rod For?
I have the 6'8 M and 6'9 ML spinning mojo bass rods. I wish I wouldve only just bought the one because they are both work perfect for any finesse rig. Love to wacky rig on the 6'8 M though!

Hi-Vis Colored Power Pro Braid
Thanks for the advice. Now I just need to decide if I want yellow or red

Hi-Vis Colored Power Pro Braid
I dont disagree at all. It seems like a marketing ploy for sure. I've always had good experiences with power pro. Leaders make me nervous due to having a knot as a possible weakpoint, especially fishing in really heavy cover or mats. I know I could just do heavy flouro but I like the sensitivity of braid. But I know flipping/pitching is geared to going after the reaction bite so I suppose line visibility doesnt really matter as much anyway.

Rod For Pitching Jigs And Lighter T-Rigs To Docks
Ive had great experience with St croix mojo bass rods. Sounds like you could use the mojo bass jig 'n worm rod. 6'6" MH fast tip. 4.1 oz, split cork grip. It is $110 though

What Length Is Your Jig Rod?
This may be a dumb question but...what is the point of buying another jigging rod that is only 1inch longer than another you already have? I mean is there a reason behind that 1 inch increase? Aside from just having another rod for a different bait style/color or line type/size?

Hi-Vis Colored Power Pro Braid
Well I wonder about the new Power Pro Zero Impact then. its got that 32" section of black between each 20ft section of whatever color. The black section is supposedly "50% stronger" than the colored section to counter the reduction in line strength from the knot.

Hi-Vis Colored Power Pro Braid
Has anyone noticed a significant difference in bites when throwing just straight hi-vis yellow or red braid compared to moss green in real heavy cover or dirty water? I use a leader in clear water or less heavy cover. So I'm just curious for when I dont have a leader.

Reel For Punch Rod
X2 i dont think youre going to find a better drag system than Revos. Thats my personal opinion though.

Is A Glass Rod Really Worth It For Cranking?
Thanks everyone! I've been looking at st croix mojo bass glass rods, st croix rage rods, and duckett cranking rods. I wish I could just test them all out then make my choice.

Which Duckett Rod For Jerbaits/topwaters?
Also if you go to duckettfishing.com for each micro magic rod, it gives suggested uses. From what I've seen/heard duckett's are pretty soft rods. You can always e-mail their customer service reps to get more information. Thats what I did when buying my 7'6 XH Duckett MM. They told me all the unlisted specs like overall weight and action.

Is A Glass Rod Really Worth It For Cranking?
I hear all this buzz about softer glass rods for crankbaits or traps. I suppose I understand why they can be good, due to being softer and letting the fish have a better chance of grabbing the bait. Are they really worth it though? Couldn't you buy a typical composite rod with moderate action or use higher stretch line?
