Any Luck In Upstate Ny?
Had a very fun afternoon on Waneta yesterday. Spent 4.5 hours pitching docks with a structure bug and boated over 30 fish with a few 3lbers, but mostly 2-2.5 lbers. All healthy fish. They were deep under the docks. Had to work to get the lure back to them. I went to waneta/lamoka with the intent to fish pads on lamoka, but I just couldn't resist pitching docks!

Buzzbaits Through The Grass
I almost hate to divulge this as it is one of my go to baits because nobody else throws it, but try a Norman Weed Walker. It slides over slop like a frog, but has a paddle wheel in the middle that makes a racket like a buzzbait. It casts like a bullet too to get way back where your trolling motor doesn't want to go. Cheap and insanely effective.

South Jersey Bass Fishing
Can any of you give me some feedback on Bauer's fishing preserve down near Cape May county? I'm taking the family to Wildwood in a couple of weeks and thought I'd take my 2.5 year old to Bauer's to catch some panfish. Thought maybe I'd take some of my gear and see if I could get into some stripers. Is it worth making a trip to?

The female end would be the receptacle I'm referring too. Most TM receptacle are round, nothing like the Trac plug.

Keuka Lake - Upstate Ny
Btw, the channel Coldsvt is referring to is at the Penn Yan launch. Coldsvt and I have always fished out of the Penn Yan launch. Many years ago I fished the Hammondsport end and recall it being pretty deep water. I've heard that the smallmouth fishing is good in deep water near the state park on the western arm. Mostly dropshot for them. Keuka is super clear, so you'll be dealing with spooky fish in most cases. Not much for shallow structure beyond docks and weedlines. Prepare to hook a lot of rock bass and pickerel.

Minn Kota 12V 55Lb Thrust Melted Fuse !!
Yep, that plug will work but you need the receptacle for it. I wired my motorguide using the conplete Trac kit. That plug isn't a "standard" TM plug.

Structure Buggin'
I really like them and so do the fish, BUT they are destroyed after landing two fish and the smaller bass\sunfish constantly rip the arms off. I'm fishing them texas rigged on a 5/0 EWG and the front gets torn to pieces quickly. I may use them for tournaments, but I think I'll stick to the cheaper/more durable beaver baits for fun fishing.

Swing Up Hinges For Deck Compartment
Here is what I'm going to try. It lifts up while pivoting forward and mounts solidly underneath. http://www.hardwaresource.com/images/products/thumb_category_796631-lg.jpg

Any Luck In Upstate Ny?
Hit waneta/lamoka yesterday. Its a two hour ride for me and I was getting mighty nervous the closer I got, noting how high and muddy the creeks were. But, the lake was maybe an inch or two high and slightly stained. Only saw small chunks of debris on lamoka. Did pretty well pitching docks on Waneta and then topwater in the pads on Lamoka. Largest fish was a 4 lber that exploded out of the pads with the sort of strike that makes you want to fish. Every fish I caught had a fat belly. They are eating well.

Swing Up Hinges For Deck Compartment
No, I need the hinge itself. Those just assist lifting the hatch on the hinge.

Swing Up Hinges For Deck Compartment
On my aluminum boat with plywood deck, there is a storage compartment that is open on one end. I've tried a piano hinge on the front edge to make it into a opening lid. The problem is this was part of the deck and the front edge butts up against the rest of the deck, preventing it from pivoting. I need something similar to a car trunk hinge that causes this lid to lift as it pivots to clear the deck. I'm having a hard time finding anything. Anyone have any ideas?

Any Luck In Upstate Ny?
Holy crap! That's some extreme punching material right there. Boy, I'm glad I didn't count on fishing the Upstate Anglers B.A.S.S. team event on Conesus this weekend. Next weekend's event is on Honeoye and that looks like it'll be interesting.

Bb-1 Pro Or Superduty?
I've mentioned this in other threads: the extra capacity of the super duty is unneeded for flipping. That being said, I use my tournament mb for flipping and my bb1 pro for bombing lures a mile. In previous posts they were talking about the bb1 and not the bb1 pro. The pro has the externally adjustable centrifugal brakes with over 20 settings. Best feature of the reel.

Any Luck In Upstate Ny?
I was going to ask if any of the northern most lakes were effected after seeing that lamoka/waneta & cayuta were closed to boating due to submerged docks and debris. Is Honeoye open or is it flooded too?

Braid To Fluoro Knot, Tired Of Failures
I like the alberto but I've learned that its very important how you tie it. If I take the braid and make the loop and wrap the fluorocarbon around, the knot slips right out because the fluoro doesn't bite into the braid. Make the loop with the fluoro and the braid bites down hard and the knot is solid.

Does Anyone Bass Fish On Seneca Lake?
I avoid it because the boat traffic is non stop. Seems to be the busiest of the finger lakes.

Nepa Largemouth
Lily lake has been an absolute mad house on the few weekends I attempted to go there the last couple of years. I'm talking about the parking lot filled to capacity with trucks/trailers.

Tournament In Small Boat
I don't see any reason why not. You don't have to run from one end of the lake to the other. Just need to be where there's fish. One thing I've noticed in tournaments is that it seems the guys with the biggest boats, with the biggest motors, spend the most time flying up and down the lake and the least time fishing. You aren't catching fish if you don't have a line in the water.
